'So this was the official business he meant,' Ysabel thought, amusingly. She eyed Kian while the King observed their interaction with curiosity. 

"Thank you for gracing us with your presence, my dear daughter. I am quite pleased to receive two proposals from young nobles asking for your hand. But not for marriage yet. We will talk about that when the time draws nigh."

Kian turned to King Baltimore, lowering his head to acknowledge what he had just declared. He made sure to smile, pleased by being accepted to have an audience with him and Ysabel. 

Unlike Hinrik, he had no escort or an entire carriage. He came on horseback with a trusted ally who served as his companions rather than a protector of some sort.
