The glamorous setting almost hurt Hinrik's eyes. He squinted at the magnificent castle that sat in the middle of what appeared to be sparkling water.
The kingdom of Zalea was a paradise come true. It was no surprise that they had closed their gates and were only permitted to open them every once in a while.
Aside from Eyeris, Zalea is one of the most prosperous of all the kingdoms.
"It seems that most of the monarchs have arrived," the servant that came with Hinrik observed. He was gazing at the other boats that bore the flags of each kingdom.
Hinrik followed, noting only one boat in particular. He smiled; his heart fluttered at the thought of seeing her again.
There was not a day that he had stopped thinking about Ysabel. He often wondered what she was doing and how she was. He worried that the traumatic experience of seeing someone die before her would have kept her mind troubled.
