"He was a loving husband and father to his wife and children," Ysabel heard one of the servants whisper as the casket was lowered to the ground. She pursed her lips, bothered by something else.
The queen was playing nonchalance with her lady-in-waiting missing. Ysabel wanted to be done with the funeral. She needed to find answers. And she won't be able to find them if she stays with everyone else.
However, she didn't want to be suspected of anything or to be rude to the family and everyone present.
But her curiosity won over logic.
After the prayer was said and the final goodbye was done, Ysabel slipped away from the crowd.
They had gone from the chapel to the local cemetery. It was a few distances away from the palace.
