Time seemed to have stopped.
The sound of the crickets from a distance became faint, and all Ysabel could think of was the rampant beating of her heart and the cause of her unstable emotions all of a sudden.
The latter took a minute to grasp the situation, looking from Ysabel to Kian. He felt his jaw locked but had to forget about his feelings, tightening his hold on the man he had caught.
"It seemed I came at the right moment."
Kian greeted him with applause, smiling cheekily at Ysabel as he gestured at the man held by Prince Hinrik.
"Problem solved."
Ysabel scoffed, shaking her head in disbelief.
"I don't understand why the two of you wanted to make this your business. However, since this has already happened," the princess paused. She looked at the man in Prince Hinrik's hold pointedly. "Let's try to work as a team. But do keep in mind that this doesn't count as part of the quest."
