The news didn't sit well with Ysabel. She tossed and turned in her bed, trying to coax herself to sleep but couldn't.
Finally giving up, the young monarch went toward her study table and grabbed a parchment from her drawer along with the pen and ink.
She paused and thought about what to say, uncertain how to comfort Hinrik. Ysabel wanted to go to him, but she knew it wasn't possible.
Her own father was on the brink of danger. She couldn't take risks and sail toward Bezmun. That gave her an idea of how to start the letter.
'I know everyone already told you to be strong and hold on. That grieving is only a phase.'
Ysabel paused, lifting the pen off the paper.
She felt her heart getting heavy as she stared at the words. Those were the same words she heard after her father died.
