Chapter 2 - CHAPTER ONE...

The shrill sound of my alarm clock pulled me from my sleep but I wasn't ready to wake up just yet so with my eyes still heavily clouded with sleep I hit the snooze button on my alarm clock and went back to sleep but not long after, the stupid thing rang again and this time I threw it shattering it into pieces when it hit the wall.

I wasn't a morning person.

Satisfied with the broken pieces of the alarm clock near my walk-in closet I adjusted my pillow and went back to sleep and as if the universe was against me going back to sleep there was a knock on my door. I groaned before deciding to ignore it maybe whoever was behind the door would take the hint and leave me alone but as you know this didn't happen. The longer I ignored the door the louder it became.

"Liv you better have a good reason for disturbing me this morning". I shouted out to my best friend Liv as I walked to the door unlocking it for her to come in.

I'm usually grumpy early in the mornings until I have gone for my morning run in my wolf form it helps wake me up and relaxes me, everyone knew this so they just wait for me to wake up on my own, but Liv was always the exception.

"Well, I guess that's the thanks I get for wanting to wake you up so we wouldn't be late for our last dress fitting with Lily to avoid her going off on you". Liv said entering my room and going to sit on my bed.

"Right thanks," I said sarcasm leaking from every word. "Wanna join me on my run Liv," I asked.

"No thanks, I just showered". She smiled at me.

"Whatever". I said placing my hair in a messy bun.

"Wow, yet another alarm clock brutally murdered by you, Gigi. Bravo" Liv said looking at the shattered pink alarm clock on the floor.

Good riddance I hated the bright pink thing anyway. My brother Carlos had bought it for me knowing I hated the color pink.

"Liv darling could you please help me pick out something to wear so when I'm back from my run, I wouldn't have to worry about that and there'll be enough time for me to get dressed". I said my voice sounding sickeningly sweet even to my ears.

"Fine whatever just get out of here and hurry up we don't want to be late". She shouted after me as I left the room.

Liv my best friend. We had grown up together. Her dad was the beta of our Pack and my dad's best friend. I chuckled softly as I remembered how she had gotten her nickname Liv.

We had just gotten back from school that day and after having our shower we all went to the dining room to have our lunch. It was a rule in my family which included my dad's beta, gamma, and nuclear family that we always eat together no matter how busy we were. So, we had all been sitting down eating when suddenly Olive broke the silence.

"Why does everyone call Gigi, Gigi instead of Gianna". Olive six-year-old self-asked no one in particular. It was a random question.

"You see my dear, it was Carlos that gave her that nickname". My mum replied.

"I also want a nickname". she turned to Carlos who smiled at her.

"Would you give me one Carlos"? She looked at him expectantly.

"Sure, I got the right one for you. I'll call you Liv instead of olive, see". Carlos's twelve-year-old self said causing everyone to laugh.

Since then everyone had called her Liv instead of Olive sometimes I even forget that her full name was Olive. After I shifted back, I quickly got dressed and went back into the pack house going into our kitchen and grabbing an apple before rushing back into the room I needed to hurry up so I wouldn't be late for breakfast.

Entering my room, I saw Liv lying comfortably on my bed and beside her was a pair of jeans and a thin cotton top laid on the bed.

I love this girl.

Seeing that she was busy on her phone and probably didn't notice me I had an idea I rushed to the bed and hugged her while pecking her on her cheeks rubbing my sweaty body on her.

"Ew, ew, ew get off me you stinking bull". Liv shouted trying to get me off her she finally succeeded and both of us burst out laughing.

"Stinking bull that's all you've got". I continued laughing as I entered my bathroom leaving Liv complaining behind me.

*****

After I showered and got dressed Liv and I went to the dining room and took our seats waiting for the others to arrive. We didn't have to wait for long as not even a minute had passed by and everyone trooped in.

Jacob my dad gamma Edward's son and Liv's mate pecked Liv before taking the chair next to her he was going to be beta seeing as Liv refused the position so my brother was free to appoint his beta so he chose Jacob and then Jacob would appoint someone as the gamma replacing him.

I was happy for Liv when we had turned sixteen and she had found her mate. I hadn't even shifted at sixteen so I wasn't worried seeing as I was a late bloomer and my wolf had not matured enough for me to be able to recognize my mate.

For late bloomers, our wolf matures later after our human body, unlike normal wolves where the two matured simultaneously. But when I finally shifted at eighteen and I still hadn't found my mate, worry crept in, and then came the onslaught of excuses about why I still haven't found him, everyone knew I was worried about this so I attended lots of mating ceremony with my dad and brother hoping to find him at one of this ceremonies but I went home disappointed every single time, and now I was twenty and still haven't found my mate and I hoped that during my brothers mating ceremony in three days I would find him and if I didn't then maybe I just didn't have a mate or maybe he died before I could find him. I truly hoped not.

I shook the thought away as fast as it came and tried to focus on the conversations going on at the table. Breakfast was soon over and we were all leaving the table when my dad turned to Carlos.

"Did you send out invitations to Alpha Vladimir and Alpha Gerald I was going to do just that yesterday but got distracted"? My dad asked Carlos while giving my mum a pointed look. Ew, I don't think I want to know what that look was about.

"Yes, I did that yesterday before dinner". My dad slapped his back and walked ahead of us leaving the dining room.

"Gigi are you ready to go". Lily shouted from behind me.

"Yeah, let me just grab my phone". I said before rushing to my room and grabbing my phone then we left for the last dress fitting before their big day.
