Hours pass as the battle continues to be fought, but with Herald's death, the tides have shifted, and soon enough, Marrin claims victory. But the Contal knights, true to their code, do not run and fight valiantly, and by the end of the battle, only a fourth of the mages are alive.
Ray uses his earth affinity to create a small building for the others as do many of the magi with the earthen affinity, allowing everyone to recuperate and mourn the countless casualties of this battle.
