Another four hours of channeling go by as the others continue to chat a bit, mostly light-hearted stuff about their history or memorable stories. The mood is brought down though when the war is brought up.
"It is truly horrific to know the deaths caused by war… I always viewed our soldiers as brave heroes unphased by battle, but knowing I am now amongst their ranks makes it… Real." Alaric mutters as everyone nods solemnly in agreement.
"To think no even a week ago I was just a student trying to gain power and respect, now it seems so childish," Jibani responds for the first time in a quieter tone.
"Indeed. My parents wished for me to inherit the company, but I wanted to pursue a higher title. I wanted to be an archmage! Now it is questionable if I will even survive long enough to graduate." Alaric replies.
