Svätopluk was watching Percy's group from afar
, trying his hardest to follow them. After seeing the scene playing out before his eyes, he had thought that he was finally going to get revenge. He remembered how terrified and miserable he felt after he was attacked. It was so unfair, how easily Percy had managed to escape him! He would definitely remember his face clearly.
Suddenly, Svätopluk froze completely. There was somebody standing close to the house next door. He had no idea who it was, but he had seen them before during his attack. He had to warn someone.
After hearing Percy's story, the policeman wrote more information on his pad and then turned around and faced his colleagues. They all walked back to their vehicles with heavy hearts and muttered a lot of curse words under their breath. When they arrived at their vehicles, they climbed in quickly. One car remained behind for a little while longer. Once they were gone, Svätopluk ran towards the house next door and knocked urgently against the glass windows.
"Hello? Hello, anyone home?!" he called desperately. When nobody answered, he started punching at the window in anger. His hands were trembling slightly and his teeth were clenched painfully hard. He pounded on the glass again and again, yelling angrily: "It's me, Svätopluk!" he shouted. "Open up
! You've got to help me!"
Finally, the curtains of the third room pulled apart revealing a woman in a pink sweater and dark blue jeans, with long blond hair tied into a ponytail. She eyed Svätopluk cautiously, a look of confusion covering her face. Her eyes widened when she noticed the scratches on Svätopluk's arms and face.
"Viktor?" she asked in shock.
Chapter 8
As Svätopluk entered the apartment, he grabbed his clothes and threw them onto the couch.
"Come with me," he ordered gruffly to the woman.
Her eyebrows furrowed. "To who?" she inquired suspiciously. Svätopluk was angry and annoyed. He wanted to talk with her alone, not in front of everybody. He turned around and pointed at her before pointing at herself.
"Me!" he exclaimed. Then, he continued to speak in a much softer tone: "Follow me upstairs, please."
She gave him a hesitant nod and stood up to follow him. Svätopluk led her up the stairs and waited until they were safely inside his bedroom before grabbing a few things from his bed and stuffing them into a bag. Then, they left his apartment and began to walk down the sidewalk in silence.
"How'd ya manage to escape?" Svätopluk suddenly asked, surprising her.
"Escape? Escaped what?" she asked in confusion.
His eyes flashed angrily. "Escaped the giants! They're coming to get you too! You know, because you're an important person to Olympus!" he snapped, gesturing wildly.
She blinked in surprise. "What do you mean?" she asked softly, taking a step closer to him in concern.
"They know something's wrong! They're searching for you, they're trying to hunt you down," Svätopluk yelled.
"What?! Why are you even here?! And who told you?!" she demanded, shocked.
"Who else would it be?! Everybody knows something's wrong. They're looking for a traitor and it looks like you aren't even helping! They're coming right now!" Svätopluk shouted, clenching his fist.
"Wait, they're coming here? Are you serious?! Where'd you hear that?" she questioned anxiously.
"From Percy. He told us that the giants have been acting weird lately. They're attacking villages all across Tartarus, which means something big is going on! So now they're coming to take you back home. And I'm supposed to protect you! You don't understand
