Outer Rim, Taanab – Arrival at the Agri-Corps
The transition from the Jedi Temple to Taanab felt like being cast out of the galaxy itself.
The transport ship descended through the planet's thick atmosphere, revealing an endless sea of farmland stretching toward the horizon. Golden crops swayed in the wind, clusters of irrigation towers stood like mechanical sentinels, and rivers carved through the land like veins of liquid silver.
It was beautiful.
And it was a prison.
Arcann sat near one of the viewport windows, silent as the ship touched down on the designated landing pad. The Agri-Corps was not a place for warriors, leaders, or scholars. It was where Jedi sent those they deemed unworthy of a true path in the Order.
The ramp lowered with a hiss of pressurized air, and the initiates stepped onto the soil of their new home.
Waiting for them was Master Brel Venn, a Twi'lek Jedi dressed in the simple brown robes of the Agri-Corps overseers. She surveyed them with a measured gaze before offering a small, welcoming nod.
"Welcome to Taanab," she said. "This will be your home now. Here, you will serve the Force in ways beyond the battlefield—through creation, cultivation, and preservation."
Arcann didn't miss the flicker of pain that crossed Soren's face at those words.
It was the same for all of them. They hadn't been chosen.
For some, that meant a lifetime of insignificance.
For Arcann?
It was just the beginning.
Life in the Agri-Corps
From the moment they arrived, life in the Agri-Corps was defined by routine and labor.
Mornings began before sunrise, with initiates assigned to various research teams and agricultural projects. Unlike the structured training of the Jedi Temple—where they had been taught combat stances, philosophy, and the history of the Force—the work here was entirely practical.
Arcann's Daily Assignments:
1. Terraforming & Soil Restoration:
• Understanding how to revive dead or glassed planets.
• Studying the delicate balance of ecosystems and planetary rejuvenation.
2. Amplifying Flora Growth:
• Learning to stimulate plant life using subtle Force techniques.
• Experimenting with genetic modifications to crops for sustainability.
3. Climate Control Research:
• Analyzing how weather manipulation technology could be used in planetary restoration.
• Studying Republic archives on failed terraforming projects.
Arcann never complained.
He never objected to the work, never questioned the purpose of it all.
Instead, he watched, he learned, and he planned.
Tensions Within the Group
As the months passed, the exiled initiates began to fracture.
• Soren had grown cold, distant, and quietly angry at the Jedi for abandoning them.
• Goran had thrown himself into his work, trying to find meaning in it.
• Freya was different. She was watching Arcann too closely.
"You don't belong here," she told him one evening, finding him alone near one of the irrigation towers.
Arcann didn't even glance at her. "Neither do you."
She folded her arms. "At least I'm not pretending."
A pause.
Arcann allowed himself a small, calculated smirk. "Aren't you?"
Freya exhaled sharply, shaking her head before walking away.
She was too perceptive.
He would have to be careful.
The Mission: Ruins of Elos V
Six months into his exile, an opportunity presented itself.
Master Venn announced that a team would be sent off-world to study the remains of a failed Republic colony on Elos V—a barren moon where an attempt at terraforming had mysteriously collapsed decades ago.
Arcann volunteered immediately.
Mission Roster:
• Master Brel Venn – Team Leader.
• Arcann – Research Assistant.
• Freya – Technical Support.
• Soren – Security Detail.
• Three Agri-Corps researchers.
The journey took two days.
As the shuttle descended onto the surface, Arcann immediately understood why the Republic had abandoned Elos V.
The planet was lifeless.
A wasteland of blackened stone, dry air, and sky so dark it felt like the world itself had been drained of light. The skeletal remains of the colony stretched in the distance—abandoned structures half-buried in the dust, their walls cracked and forgotten.
And yet…
Arcann felt something here.
Something beneath the surface.
The Discovery: A Forgotten Holocron
While the others set up their equipment, Arcann moved toward the ruins.
The deeper he walked into the collapsed structures, the stronger the feeling became—a whisper at the edge of his senses.
And then he saw it.
A small metallic cube, half-buried beneath the rubble.
The moment his fingers brushed against it, a jolt of energy surged through his skin.
A holocron.
His pulse quickened.
Holocrons were rare. Ancient. A repository of Jedi knowledge locked behind layers of Force encryption.
The Jedi had always kept them out of reach for initiates.
But now?
Now he had one in his hands.
A voice echoed from outside.
"Arcann! We need you back at the camp!"
Freya.
Arcann's grip tightened around the holocron.
He should have reported it.
But he didn't.
Instead, he hid it beneath his robes and made his way back before anyone noticed.
The Awakening
That night, as the ship left Elos V, Arcann sat alone in his quarters.
The holocron sat in front of him, glowing faintly under the dim lights.
A deep breath.
He reached out with his fingers.
Nothing happened at first.
Then, slowly, he let go of the control he had always imposed on himself.
For years, he had masked his Force connection, pretending to be weaker than he was.
Now?
He let the Force flow.
And the holocron came to life.
A burst of golden-blue energy flickered from the device, twisting into the shape of a robed figure.
The projection settled—a tall Jedi Master with piercing silver eyes and robes unlike any Arcann had seen before.
"You have awakened this knowledge… and so your journey begins."
Arcann's breath caught.
The Force felt different now. Stronger. Awakening.
He had spent his life pretending he was weak.
But he wasn't.
Not anymore.
And the Jedi had made a mistake.
A New Path - Back to the corps.
As the ship neared Taanab, Arcann stared out at the stars.
The Jedi had sent him to the Agri-Corps to be forgotten.
But instead, he had discovered something far greater.
And for the first time, he knew his journey was only beginning.
