My Lady… my lady," a voice called out, distant and echoing. It felt like it was coming from another world. Matthew. She felt his hand on hers, pulling her away from the book and she opened her eyes with a scream, panting, her eyes wide open.
"Lorcan!" she cried out, looking around frantically. She was no longer in the dark, oppressive room. She was back where she had been sitting with Matthew, the book still open before her.
"It is alright My Lady. You are here. You are safe," Matthew said gently, his face filled with concern.
Reina's heart pounded in her chest as she tried to calm herself. The vision had felt so real, so vivid. She could still feel the chill of the stone floor, still smell the dampness and the blood. She could still see Lorcan's eyes, filled with pain and fear.
"Matthew, he is suffering. He's in so much pain. I saw him… He's trapped somewhere, somewhere dark and terrible."
Matthew's expression grew serious.
