Reina's eyes widened in surprise, the earring dangled in the air, shimmering under the soft glow of the chandelier. It was an intricate piece of jewelry, a delicate combination of gold with silver stones clearly of significant value.
She took a hesitant step forward, her hand reaching out to grasp it. However, Elena, with a quick, almost mischievous movement, pulled it away, just out of Reina's reach.
"I had thought I lost it," Reina exclaimed, her voice a mix of relief and confusion.
"I had looked everywhere. I... I had thought it was stolen. It had not come into my mind that I left it here."Elena's eyes sparkled with an unreadable emotion as she watched Reina.
"Thank you," Reina continued, her tone softening with gratitude.
