"Aren't you thinking? You were too hasty! What if you perished there?" That's what Amir preached to me as soon as we got away from that place. We are here by the Fire exit where there are no other people.
"I'm sorry, that's gone from my mind! It's my chance to see them." If only Avira had told me about that earlier, I would have had a better chance of catching up with them. But he didn't know and had no clue about that matter.
Amir looked at me frustrated. "You just entered a lion's den! You don't know how dangerous it is. If I hadn't gone there, I might have done what that fool could have done to you."
I looked at him bravely. "I am not weak, Amir. You know that I grew up taking risks just to survive myself. I can defend myself, so you don't have to worry about that."
He softened his look at me. "Yes, I know you're brave, I'm just worried about you. I don't want you to get hurt. If you need help, just tell me and I'll do it. Please, just don't hurt yourself."
I smiled in assurance. "Rest assured, I'll take care of myself."
"Why don't we just let the police handle this? I also know some policemen who can help us," he suggested.
"I know that, but it's still different when his father is a General. His father holds great power than the police. He treasures his reputation, that's why his son's nonsense is covered up." And one more thing, I don't want to involve him in this because if his parents find out, they will surely restrict Amir.
His parents are too protective of their one and only child.
He sighed. "I will let you this time, but you should stop if it becomes worst."
"Fine."
He looked at me intently, not believing me. "Say, you will not put yourself in danger." He wants me to repeat his words.
I sighed. "Yeah, I will try my hardest not to put myself in danger, but I'm doing this to stop all his craziness, so there's no certainty-"
"Please, Aia." He pleads. I knew he was serious and wanted to make sure. He didn't even make me promise, because he knew that was a big word for me. I won't make a promise or make him promise if I know that there is no certainty. That's why he only pleads, even though that's not his nature, but for me, he can plead and humble himself.
A reason why I treasure him a lot. He's my only family, my best friend, I can count on.
We quietly went home to his condo after class. When I got my stuff from Avira, he told me what happened. Avira found out where I went.
Amir went straight to the kitchen and put on an apron. I looked at the wall clock and it was six o'clock in the evening.
Since I moved here to his condo, he always cooks our food even though I know how to cook. I didn't force him either and he always obeyed so I just let it go because he is also a better cook than me. This man is a chef.
"Are you going to cook?" I asked even though it was obvious. He didn't answer me so I spoke again.
"Do you want me to help you?" I walked closer to him and stopped at the counter.
"No, I can manage," he answered in a cold tone.
"What are you going to cook?" I asked again but he didn't answer. I shook my head, he was obviously sulking.
He is busy washing the ingredients needed for his cooking. Since Amir had his back to me, I slowly walked until I reached his back. My two hands crawled up and wrapped around her waist.
I feel that he was stunned by what I did. There is no malice in my hugging him because we are best friends. I've been this kind to him since we were kids, so I don't have this kind of gesture anymore.
"Are you sulking? I'm sorry." I softened my voice.
"I'm not," he answered and continued what he was doing. I pouted and looked at his face while still hugging him.
"No way?" When he didn't answer I poked his side. He flinched.
"Hey, stop it!" he disobeyed.
"Gosh, smile..."
Even though he's always serious and cold, I know his weakness. His weakness is to smile.
Pay attention to the twitching of his lips and I know that his lips will soon lift to smile. "Ayiiiee... Smile now."
"Hey!" He tried to avoid my hand that tickled him. I even tickled him on his waist causing him to smile and laugh a little.
I was surprised when he suddenly splashed water on me with his wet hand.
"Eww!" I wiped my face which was wet from his splash. He just laughed at my reaction.
I also smiled, because I was able to see him smile. How I love seeing him happy.
I stopped him after a while. After recovering from laughing, he just shook his head at me. "I really can't stand you."
"Of course I am! You can love me," I commented.
His smile widened. "Yeah, I love you."
I was not affected by that word because I knew he loved me as a friend, but why do I feel something?
