Chapter 12 - Ch. 12

Alfred's POV

"I think I can make those with this things." I said while looking at the orbs in detail.

The orb's contain the following objects, one is an item called Rapunzel's hair, hmm, how weird, why would a goblin have this?

[Hint - Sometimes item dropped by monsters is related to the dungeon they belong to.]

A sudden prompt by the system, huh, I don't know much about the story of Rapunzel, all I know is that she was trapped in a tower by a witch. Is it going to be some rescue type mission? After a few seconds of waiting, I started looking at the details of the item, I knew the system wasn't going to give an answer anyways.

[Item - Rapunzel's hair: A bundle of hair with a trace of origin energy, making it tougher and allows it to have the ability of regrowth as long as a certain amount of hair is kept

Unlike the fairytale, Rapunzel was not imprisoned to the tower, she chose to remain in the tower herself and only occasionally goes out to buy necessities

It can be used as materials for armor, weapons, and other items

Origin magic and Support type magic has a 15% bonus when this item is used to channel magic

Grows 2 meters everyday as long as half a meter length of hair is kept]

(2 meters: about 6 feet and 7 inches; half a meter: about 1 feet 7 inches. For you who uses the Imperial system)

Hmm... I can make a rope with this, then let's go view the next orbs, there's the magic stone, a construct card, and two skill orbs.

[Item - Magic stone (Rank: F): The lowest rank magic stone, it could be used as fuel, materials for alchemy and many more.]

Really now? How vague is that description, alright then, next item.

[Item - Construct card (Goblin: F-rank): It is a construct card that can be used by a certain proffesion

Can only be created through special means]

System, what does the last line means?

[Hint - It is exactly what it means, a construct card can only be created through special means. Examples included but not limited to: Level-up reward, Special skills, Rituals, Alchemy, Drops]

So does that mean the class that can use this construct cards don't get them just by killing monsters?

[Hint - Yes, although it can show up through drops and the higher the rank of the monster, the lower the chances that a construct card will drop]

I see, but I am interested in one of the things you said, the level up rewards. Can I get them even if I am not considered or registered as a 'Player'?

[Hint - Yes, level up rewards are something every creature bound by a system can get]

That's good, I thought only players can get them. Anyways, time to view the skills.

[Skill - Bind (Active skill: F-rank): A single target restraining magic, it freezes the targets legs making them unable to move.

Success rate depends on User's level, rank, stats and the skill rank of the skill.

Can be used with restraining type items.

Can evolve with various requirements.

Charges left: 5/5]

Oh, so this is why I was not able to move when that goblin came at me, so it was because of a skill. So the skill isn't an absolute restrain, since it can fail. Speaking of, what are these 'various requirements'?

[Hint - The requirements to evolve a skill can vary. A skill can evolve through constant use, when levelling up, with materials, and many more.]

Okay, I get it, I get it, so which one of these are the skill evolution requirements for the [Skill - Bind]?

[Hint - The host can explore or find an item that can identify a skill evolution requirements]

I see, that's about what I expected to get from you anyways. Let's move on to the next skill then.

[Skill - Wildman's intuition (Passive skill: D-rank): A skill containing the knowledge, wisdom, and intuition of a wildman. With this, you can survive in the wild.

Gives you elementary level knowledge of how to make weapons, survive in the wild, make various concoctions with herbs, and many more

Cannot evolve]

This is the reason I decided I can make a sheperd slingshot and asked Hans to learn how to use a shield, even if I don't know how to make them. With this, it can be done. Well then, time to learn this two skill and make the slingshot and shield after I draw my charge left in [Sign-in: Race]. I'll make the two heroes after that.

I hold the two orbs containing the skill and wondered how do I use this? System?

[Hint - In order to use the skill orb that has been extracted by the [Skill - Extraction], say absorb and crush the orb when it glows, the host will absorb the skill after that]

Thanks system, alright, here I go then. I'll test it out on the Skill orb containing [Bind] first

"Absorb." I said and after a few seconds, it glowed as the system said, I gripped my hand and it was suprisingly more brittle than I thought. It was weird because I thought it was tougher considering it looked like a glass marble and those things are tough. Is the light doing something that made it brittle?

Anyways, after a few seconds, the system notified me of obtaining a new skill, I didn't bother checking it considering I already knew what it entails.

So next is the skill orb with [Wildman's Intuition], but first, lets try to grip it a little. Weird, its way tougher than before, so that means the light was indeed doing something. Is 'absorb' a trigger word? Anyways, I did the same thing again and oh gosh, my head hurts a bit.

But honestly, its child's play with what I've been through when I was extracting my body's waste, did I get some kind of skill that makes me tolerant to pain?

I'll check it out after I pull my draw in my [Sign-in: Race] skill.

I pulled up the system and scrolled through to get to the skill, the system really should optimize this, you know, get the skill to another tab like a webpage instead of scrolling through until I get to it.

[Hint - Settings optimized as host has wished]

Hmm? I see, so I can optimize it like this huh? I'll experiment on it if I have the time later on.

I see the brand new system interface, its been set up like a web browser with the tabs having skill, stats, and so on, I clicked on the tab that says, [Sign-in to get rewards]. Gosh, such a clickbaitey title, I wouldn't even click on this if I was at home on my computer, afraid that I would get a virus. Anyways, it was such an unrefined webpage, a tacky red banner with big golden fonts that says, "Sign-in" and under that is a three button, "Skill" "Race" and "Item."

[Hint - This was based on the host's knowledge and memories]

What? Hey, I've seen much better things done this!! You know what, there's no use arguing about this, I'll just draw and get my eyes away from this eyesore.

I clicked the "Race" button and I was asked to confirm by saying Draw.

"Draw." I said, excited about what I would get. After a while, I got shown three cards detailing different races. I'm assuming its telling me to pick one? Hmm, I need to think about this...

Race pick:

Slime

Fairy

Stone monkey

....

So what should Alfred pick? Please click on the paragraph comment and like my comment and the comment with the most like wins.

You can also comment yourself, I'll count that as a vote too.

You can also make suggestions of what kind of character I'll make for each of the race, provide images of what do you think they should look like and such.

I know this may end up real bad but I really want to interact with each of you on what should I do to the story. This is just me being greedy, I guess. Sorry for the long rant and if you read this, thank you.

See you all, thanks for reading again, love each and everyone of you, kind strangers!!
