AN UNDERSTANDING smile was painted on Levi's lips. "I won't force you to marry me. You have your reasons, and I respect that."
"Thank you, love." Shari glanced down.
The couple ate in silence. Despite Levi's smile, Shari felt his disappointment no matter how he concealed it.
"By the way, I'm serious about hiring you," Levi said after they finished their meal.
"I appreciate that. I'm getting bored here alone. Now that I feel my body is recuperating, I will apply and prove my worth to be in the operation department—"
"No. It's dangerous. I'm thinking about desk jobs since you're a computer expert. How about you give a hand to Aiden?"
Shari expected him to react this way. Levi viewed her as weak, and that was how she planned it.
"I only lost a portion of my memories. But I was trained to be in the field—"
"I said no. It will trigger your trauma."
