Chapter 5 - Chapter 5;Little thief

Loti lead Dami downstairs and the little girl's mouth continued flying open in as her eyes scanned the whole room. It was magnificent, half of their compound.

An aquarium like, table stood in the middle of the room. The decorations made it seem like a palace. From the golden colored vase with beautiful flowers, to the paintings that hung on the wall like works to be exhibited, to the crystal blue and white paintings on the wall. For a moment Dami felt peace and security.

"This is the dining". Loti said driving Dami out of her thoughts again.

"Din.... what? Are you serious?"Dami asked facing Loti.

" Yes ma'am, go and have your seat. Your uncle will be here in a few minutes, and breakfast will be served in a short time". The robot said walking away and leaving a dumbstruck girl behind.

Minutes later the man from ealier, descended down the stairs, opposite the stairs she came from.

"How could it be? she didn't even notice the stairs ealier. So strange.

He looked young, like in his early thirties. She guessed.

"How are you? "He asked approaching the table and having a seat opposite hers.

"Hmmn fine ". She said nodding.

"Good ". Simon said.

Dami stared at the man in in front of her secretly, trying nit to let him catch her stealing glances.

An awkward silence filled the room and moments later, different robots filed the room bringing in different kind of dishes.

Loti followed closely behind as if supervising.

"What the heck was going on? Where there even human beings in this place? Except fir both of them?

" Eat your food, it's gonna get cold". Simon said.

"Ooh."Dami jerked.

So funny how many times she jerked out if her thougts today.

Throughout the meal Dami continued stealing glances at Simon curiosly as if trying to get something out of his face.

"Eat as much as you can."Simon said. Making Dami feel like a she was a little inexperienced thief.

She ignored the words and just continued eating.

Simon watched the girl in front of him and felt pity and something else, as she bowed down her eyes looking straight into her food.

"What a life". He thought.

Dami just kept quiet and didn't bother to mutter out a word to any human. Not even the man in front of her could make her talk.

At least not now.
