"One week..." Wendy continued muttering under her breath.
Michael immediately turned to ask Milo, "Is it possible to produce the antidote within a week?"
"Yes, definitely," Milo answered confidently. In reality, he was not that sure of it himself. But the poison had already started to take effect. Even if it was not possible, he would have to make it happen.
Michael knew Milo very well. Though Milo had replied with such confidence, Michael remained worried.
Michael's eyes were red. He grabbed Milo's hand tightly, his voice had become a lot hoarser. He pleaded desperately, "Milo, I've never begged you for anything. But now I'm begging you, you must create the antidote. Promise me?"
Milo patted Michael's back and nodded gravely.
"From now on, we will take turns to keep watch over Jake. We'll then be able to act immediately should there be an emergency," said the doctor.
