"No..." Wendy's forehead beaded with cold sweat. She was very uneasy, and her hand was tightly grabbing onto something.
"Wendy... Wendy..." Michael's voice was anxious yet gentle, as if wanting to give Wendy some reassurance.
The voice by her ear gradually woke Wendy up from the nightmare. She opened her eyes and the orange light by the bed was warm and soothing.
Taking a deep breath, Wendy looked at the room in detail, then looked at Michael's familiar face before she snapped out of the nightmare.
"Nightmare?" Michael gently wiped the perspiration on Wendy's forehead and helped her to sit up. Reaching out to take the cup of water at the side table, Michael realized that it was empty. He then poured a cup of warm water for Wendy.
Wendy took the cup and swallowed a big gulp of water. She felt better.
Michael took the cup from her and placed it back onto the side table.
