"I can't, really," Wendy shook her head as she remembered how scared she felt earlier.
"Leah." Jake turned his head to look at Leah, winked, and said, "Mummy's not looking, so let's cry together."
When Wendy heard this, she froze for a moment. What in the world did Jake mean by crying together?
As soon as Jake's words left his mouth, Jake and Leah cried out loudly. This cry was clearly tinged with laughter. Wendy couldn't stop laughing.
"I will look, okay?" Wendy took a deep breath and gripped the side railing tightly with her hands as she looked down with a serious and determined gaze.
Her legs went weak, and she was scared as ever.
The two children behind her were trying to cheer her on by saying, "Mummy, don't be afraid!"
Wendy took a deep breath again. She controlled her fear and did not retract her gaze at the first moment.
