Chereads / The Tale of an Unfortunate Girl / Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

"Baby, I've made my mind now. I'll divorce him. We can't go on like this. At this rate we'll become like him. A HEARTLESS MONSTER." "Mama, please try to understand. He's going through a mental breakdown which is why he's acting like this. Before all of these, has he ever hit you or thought 'bout hurting us?"

I tried to convince her to stay strong until the end but failed. Actually I sometimes feel that I'm getting very selfish as the days pass. I do what I want and make what I want it to happen. Realizing what she went through all these time, I gave up on the idea of getting my family to its previous state.

Just like every day, Papa came home midnight, drunk. He sat on the sofa hanging his head low. At that moment a figure appeared in front of him. He tried to look at the figure to see who it is but couldn't as the room's lights were off. It handed him a paper and he took it. He turned the side lamp and read the contents in it and asked

- What do you mean by these, Olivia?

- Why? Can't you read?

- HUH…..SO YOU WANNA LEAVE ME? DON'T FORGET THAT I'M FEEDING YOU GUYS...….YOU CAN'T EVEN LIVE WITHOUT ME, YOU WENCH.

Olivia cut him off and said

-You simply don't know what will happen and also you don't have an idea of what I'm capable of doing.

- WHAT YOU CAN DO? YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A COWARD.YOU LIKE TO HIDE IN A CORNER WHILE YOU'RE DAUGHTER GETS BEATEN UP. SO TELL ME WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO?

- I can do many things which you can't even imagine.

- OK, SINCE YOU WANT TO LEAVE ME, I WON'T STOP YOU BUT DON'T YOU FORGET I'LL NEVER LEAVE YOU. 'CAUSE YOU'RE LEAVING ME WHICH MEANS YOU IS DUMPING ME AND I CAN'T LIVE WITH THIS HUMILIATION.

- You're a psycho, you know that? You're a PSYCHO.

After threatening her, he signed it. She left the room hurriedly and came to my room and saw me packing my belongings.

"Mama I heard all of it. So let's hurry up and leave this hell as soon as possible." "But baby where we'll go? We've got nowhere to go." "Don't worry 'bout that. I've already booked a hotel. We'll stay there tonight and find us home tomorrow and rent it. And also last week I got a part time job so that will keep us hanging for now. After we shift to our new place, you and I will search for more jobs so that we can meet our dailies." "Really you're my amazing daughter. Now let's go."
