He walks down the street, two bags of groceries in his hands. The sun is shining overhead. It's around 1pm in Bulova square.
Walking down the avenue, the man's green hat protects his face from the sunlight. With short brown hair and a pair of black rimmed glasses, Joshua trudges step by step until he arrives in front of a non-descript grey building.
Putting down his groceries, he reaches into his pocket to grab the apartment building key. He unlocks the front door and heads up the stairs.
201, 202, 203, 204...
301, 302, 303, 304,
401, 402.
Joshua stops at the door labeled 403. Taking out his keys he fumbles around before getting inside.
"Fuaa", Joshua exhales a sigh.
Carrying his daily groceries from the supermarket was not an easy task. He had to walk 2 miles to the store and back as a form of exercise.
Reaching into the plastic bags, he pulls out a box of cereal, yogurt, and stacks of chicken breasts. Alongside two boxes of frozen meals, a head of lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, and a large amount of green onion and garlic are placed on the kitchen counter.
Joshua finishes unpacking all the fruits and vegetables, tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach and watermelon.
Inside the apartment a cool breeze invites him to sit on the couch to relax. It's 80 degrees outside and Joshua's sweating. His two apartment roommates, Max and Bruce seem to be away at the moment so he has the entire apartment to himself.
Joshua takes a moment for himself to catch his breath.
"Woah, need to go to the gym soon. Otherwise I won't be able to walk up the stairs as easily anymore", Joshua thought to himself.
Joshua took a seat at the pale green sofa in the living room. In front of it sits a small coffee table with an old desk lamp. Behind it hanging on the wall is a small television screen turned off.
He looked into the black screen, like a mirror it showed his reflection on the black panel.
Joshua wearing a green baseball cap with brown hair had pale white skin. He looked as if he hadn't seen the sun and would get sunburnt if he spend more than 30 minutes outside. Sitting down he looked of mediocre height and a more rotund figure. Apart from his orange shirt and grey pants, his finger gloves were probably the most interesting piece of attire he wore.
Staring at this black mirror, a pair of hazel brown eyes silently observed the figure on the couch.
"Uaaa, time to start a new scene", Joshua said out loud to himself.
The apartment was dimly lit from the sunlight coming through the windows. The blinds were half closed, so Joshua flicked a few light switches on. Artificial yellow light lit up the room as Joshua went to his computer.
Joshua sat down at his chair, an office desk chair and an Ikea wood table comprising of his workspace. He turned on his computer monitor light bar. A beam of white light shined onto his mx13g keyboard.
After stretching his neck, Joshua cracked his fingers making sure they were warmed up. He went and pressed the on button to his work laptop.
Like a stereotypical computer geek, his monitors lit up and the reflections from the screen could be seen in his glasses. His computer background was the anime cover of C: Possibility of Money and Control.
Various icons and shimejis roamed the screen. His computer was like an advanced fish tank simulating a miniature tomodachi world.
Moving his hand, the custom blue mouse cursor hovered past the pink Osu icon and clicked on a png of Hatsune Miku.
On screen, a blank white plane appeared.
"This is the dance floor of my heart"
Joshua said to himself. Long in his childhood as a young kid, he played dance and rhythm games on his console. DDR, arcade machines, mobile music melodies, instruments, and a little known franchise called J-Dance.
suddenly, a pop-up appeared at the side of his screen.
