"Last place will be expelled? But it's the first day of school!" Ochaco started talking about how unfair the conditions he'd set were, but Aizawa hit her with a cold dose of reality- "Natural disasters, big accidents, and selfish villains. Calamities whose time or place can't be predicted."
He made sure to look her in the eye "Japan is covered with unfairness. Heroes are the ones who reverse those situations. If you wanted to go talk with your friends at Mickey D's after school, too bad."
He then looked us over individually- "For the next three years, U.A will do all it can to give you one hardship after another. Go beyond. Plus ultra." He gestured with his finger- "Overcome it with all you've got."
Now that got them all in the mood to give it their all… maybe even more so than the earlier expulsion threat. Now… I can hold back in fights… but there's no reason to here! I grinned as Aizawa finished telling everyone the real thing began now!
Test 1: 50 meter dash
I was paired up with tail guy and decided to 'power' myself up again, this time it was both my arms and legs which had the fiery glow. I literally dug my limbs into the ground and more launched than ran my way toward the counting bot. As I approached the ground again I quickly slammed my hands down similar to how someone would jumping over a car hood and launched myself a second time.
And I'm across, 1.8 seconds. Hell yeah. Nobody else caught my eye other than Shoto (going frozone style) and Orange eye girl (She stayed upright and simply sped forward… and beat my own time with 0.4 seconds) so her ability was flight?
Test 2: Grip strength
I grabbed the little machine and looked at Aizawa… "You sure you're okay with me breaking this?" He looked at me with a brow raised- "Don't get cocky brat, these things were designed for All M-" *CRUNCH*.
He looked at me. He looked at my hand. He noticed the very broken contraption…. He rubbed the bridge of his nose while muttering- "Damnit Nezu's gonna chew me out for this" While he was still muttering in annoyance a second *CRUNCH* was heard.
He looked over with vacant eyes at flight girl (now Supergirl) and her also broken grip tester. He rubbed his eyes and took a few seconds to apply some eye drops. After he was done he looked annoyedly at both of us- "From now on if you think you're gonna break something… don't!"
We both nodded, her expressionless and me a bit salty since I did ask!
Test 3: Standing long jump
This one didn't last long but inevitably ended in my defeat. I cleared the entire pit… and the school fence… but Supergirl could fly… gotta get some wings or something later.
Test 4: repeated side steps
Also didn't last long and I again didn't come first- too much weight and momentum to keep jumping side to side effectively… unless I wanted to break the ground… again. I was tempted but I'd literally done it in every test so far and Aizawa was giving me dagger eyes… Maybe I shouldn't have pulled a hancock takeoff in the long jump.
Test 5: Ball throw
My amazing score from before was immediately beaten by Ochaco… still took long as hell for the ball to leave the atmosphere. Midoriya looked ready to puke and I felt a bit bad for the guy… a little push won't hurt right?
"Oi, broccoli" He seemed startled as I nudged him slightly out of his panic mode. Before he could say anything I started a little demonstration- "Hey, I've heard you muttering about everyone's abilities for quite a while- no I'm not mad nor will I dob you in, I was wondering if you had any advice-" I started running the fire up the veins in my arms "-About my ability, I can run this power to boost myself all over my body but my body isn't strong enough to handle it, how should I fix this?"
"U-uh, well maybe you should-" he started off stuttering but quickly became confident when he started discussing quirks. As he started discussing power limiting I cut him off- "What do you think about me only boosting certain body parts? Maybe sacrifice my fingers to pull off a stronger move?"
I couldn't make it any more obvious for him, he had his hand on his chin considering my suggestion- I could see the comprehension dawn and I quickly left him alone after a half hearted thanks.
This time it wasn't Midoriya who unmasked Aizawa as Eraser Head but Katsuki, fed up with being beaten at everything he decided to pull a dangerous stunt with the ball throw- enough explosives to maybe match half of what I'd pulled off but also enough firepower to cripple him!
Aizawa stopped and restrained him almost immediately… Midoriya had his fangirl moment as curses and threats of violence were constantly let off by the now completely wrapped explosive mummy.
He eventually got to try again… after Aizawa threatened to expel him on the spot if he pulled a stunt like that again. This time he got exactly his original score- 705.2m. [2313.64ft // 0.438 Miles]
Next up was Midoriya… I wasn't too concerned about his odds and took the opportunity to scan the area… found him! Hiding behind a wall was All Might, when nobody was looking I discreetly gave him a wave. When he noticed he sheepishly waved back… I really have picked up Rumi's habit of messing with people.
I looked back just as Midoriya threw the ball… definitely with one for all right off the bat! Everyone had a moment of amazement as the person Katsuki was proclaiming as quirkless suddenly showed so much power!
Midoriya happily turned around… with 2 broken fingers… Success? Aizawa showed his result- 1327m. [4353.6ft // 0.82 Miles]
He couldn't use just one? I guess he really was worried about getting kicked out. Katsuki of course looked like someone ate his pet goldfish and rushed Midoriya ready to blow him up… and then Aizawa got him again- "Don't make me keep using my quirk dammit! I have dry eye!". After calming down the edgy grenade the test continued.
Next up was Supergirl, I was expecting a strong throw but *BOOM* she basically did what Midoriya did with some extra oomph! What in the actual hell?! Someone this strong should've been mentioned right? Is she someone from later in the manga?!
My internal questions remained unanswered as Aizawa showed the result- 33273m! [109163.3ft // 20.674 Miles]
Well we still had some other tests and I wanted to ace at least one!
Test 6: Long distance run
This was something I was certain to win! We just had to run around a short track and continue for as long as possible… and I simply don't get physically tired! Credit where it's due: several of my classmates surprised me with their endurance- Tail guy and Momo especially.
Eventually they all ended up dropping out until it was just me and Supergirl going around the track, her flying and me still running. HOW LONG CAN SHE KEEP FLYING?! Aizawa eventually called a draw after 20 minutes of non-stop laps. Damn it!
Test 7: Sit ups
This one ended in a draw as well since we both just didn't tire… yeah okay I was attributing everything else to her having a bio force-field quirk that covered her body allowing her to fly and granting super strength… but that didn't explain super endurance!
I'll see if I can talk to her later, of course going to a new world couldn't be that easy!
Test 8: Seated toe touches
Finally! A win! I thought we'd tie again but she simply wasn't flexible enough to touch her toes! I meanwhile despite being larger had extra long pointy fingers and the flexibility of an olympic gymnast! (courtesy of Rumi making me do some acrobatic stunts!)
I mean the only one I won was really ant-climactic but still! Supergirl for once changed her expression- that of annoyance at her own hands.
After this the quirk apprehension test was called to an end… here's hoping for first place. Aizawa gathered everyone around and displayed all the scores simultaneously- Alex Usagiyama & Kaori Moashi: TIED.
What?! No second place was displayed as it was combined with the first spot. Even Aizawa himself seemed surprised, everyone else was too preoccupied to focus on it currently… especially Midoriya as he was probably mid heart attack.
"By the way, I was lying about the expulsion." yeah bullshit, I knew he'd actually do it if he thought anyone deserved it. He continued bullshitting- "It was a rational deception to draw out the upper limits of your quirks."
"WHAT!" most of the rest of the class screamed.
"Of course that was a lie, it should've been obvious if you just thought it through." Momo, bless her heart, said to the rest of the class.
"With that, we're done here. There are handouts with the curriculum and such in the classroom so when you get back, look over them." Aizawa said while walking away (not before also telling Midoriya to head to the nurse and promising more tests tomorrow).
Well that's a rather anticlimactic end… May as well get out of the sports uniform and get some questions answered.
