Chapter 21 - Accidental Hug

Chapter 21

Beatrice walked up the stairs to meet the Lord, that had his eyes keenly on hers.

She didn't know what was wrong with the Lord but he acted weird sometimes.

"Ha, my Lord." Beatrice gave the Lord a slight bow to see his lips curved up to a smile.

"Your words are sharp Beatrice, but don't like it get you into trouble." He said, and she smiled.

"They women can't seem to leave me alone because of you Milord, they keep saying I am trying to woo you and I just can't keep my calm when someone says rubbish," Beatrice said, and the Lord nodded.

"How interesting? You wooing me." He said, to have Beatrice narrow her eyes.

"It is the truth I speak Milord."

"Hmm."

Beatrice shook her head as she rubbed her forehead.

"Milady." It was Lola the maid.

"Greetings Lola, how have you been?" She asked.

"I've been well Milady, which would you prefer? Jasmine Tea or Kelo's Tea? Both are available." She asked with a smile.

"Jasmine Tea? I have never heard of it before, seems like the Lord has better tea than most of us." Beatrice sighed.

"Of course, Milady, the Lord's tea is imported from the...

"That's enough Lola, get her the tea." The Lord was quick to cut her off with a stare as he spoke.

"Hmm, the girl was just stating facts, Milord."

"Not facts, locations."

"Lady Beatrice, we've been looking for you." Lady Yuan arrived at the second floor where Beatrice stood with the Lord.

"Lady Yuan, sorry I met the Lord and he was not willing to let me go," Beatrice mumbled.

"Huh? Is that so Milord?" Lady Yuan asked, with a smile on her face.

"Hmm, I wonder so." Was the Lord's only reply as he began to walk away.

"These shoes hurt a lot Yuan, I can't even walk... Ahhh." She yelled, about to trip but was caught in a firm grip that pressed her to the firm thing.

"Ouch." She hissed in pain due to the turn.

Her ankle was already hurting and when she looked up to see who it was that had caught her..she gasped and jerked out of the Lord's arms.

"Thank you." She mumbled and he nodded, walking away.

"Aww, so sweet," Yuan muttered smiling.

Beatrice was now sure that something was indeed wrong with both Yuan and Herbert.

"There is nothing sweet about tripping and being caught, Lady Yuan."

"You mean tripping and hugging." Yuan corrected with a smile.

"Ahhh." Beatrice shook her head, walking away and Lady Yuan followed.

"There is nothing to be so cheeky about Lady Beatrice." Lady Yuan said, her face filled with smiles.

"What happened to her?" Lady Herbert asked.

"Oh Herbert, the Lord gave her a hug hence the blush," Yuan said to have Beatrice's eyes widen.

"It was not a hug, it was an accidental hug Herbert," Beatrice said.

"Oh, so it was not a hug but an accidental one. I bet it was cute, seeing how colored your cheek is." Herbert said.

"Ha, you two are ganging up on me and I don't like it. It was not intentional. I was about to trip due to this shoe you both forced me to wear and the Lord happened to be there and he helped me from falling." Beatrice explained.

"Such a long explanation, I bet it was a good hug."

"Where are we going for the picnic, Lady Yuan?"

"How petty! Changing our conversation."

"Ha, I wish Melinda was here to save me. I guess you two promised to make me suffer today." Beatrice said again.

"Ha, let's leave her be... hence the word bully slips out of her mouth and she reports us to the Lord." Lady Herbert said, to have Yuan nod.

"How baseless."

The three began their walk out of the Mansion and behind where little lilies and daisies could be found.

"Mother nature is so beautiful."

"Hmm, she is," Beatrice commented.

"Here we are." Lady Yuan mumbled as they got to a plain surrounding with no mud and flowers.

"Such a dry lawn."

"Picnics are meant only for the evening, I wonder why you insisted on it." Lady Herbert said to have Yuan scoff.

"You made so many efforts as well Herbert, we both wanted the same thing."

"How peculiar," Beatrice said, sitting on the mat that was spread out by the two women that had found joy in exchanging words.

She began to open the boxes, bringing out the food that they had brought with them.

It was so much already. Broccoli, cheese, soup, rice, and snacks.

"All these for a picnic that won't last two hours, who will eat all of them, Yuan?"

"Ask Herbert, who decided to bring the Lord's kitchen to a picnic."

"Ha! As if you don't like it glutton." Herbert was sharp with her retort.

"I can't believe I'm watching you two fight over nothing in particular, what even began this fight?" Beatrice laughed, as she settled down with an apple.

"That apple was specifically for me dear Beatrice." Herbert hissed.

Beatrice shook her head.

Indeed they had come to a picnic where the food has to be divided before consumption.

A thought rang in her head and she looked up at the woman.

"The Lord has a firm arm, I nearly thought it was a rock." She began.

"It was warm and I don't know...I just felt..."

"I knew you felt something Beatrice hence the blush that crept to your eyes not even your cheek," Yuan said, her cheek stretching to a smile.

"You're becoming dirtier Beatrice, how could you realize it was hard so quickly..it was not intentional," Herbert said, using her words against her.

"Yuan do you think the Lord has a thing for Beatrice, saw the man staring at her once in a way I could not even comprehend," Herbert mumbled.

"Ha, you should be more specific Herbert, ask questions like; The Lord has fallen for our dear Beatrice, no?"

"Ha! That's right...no wonder the accidental hug was so good to make her blush."

Now Beatrice was already regretting why she patched them up again.

It wasn't even intentional, it was an accident!
