The Regal Flames from the Memory.
They rushed forward like starving beasts and spread around the inside of the crypt, the top of the tower-like mountain literally busted off and my flames ran rampant for all onlookers to view.
"Grovel in the result of your own ignorance and Die." I said with my final hot breath.
These ideas, these actions, these thoughts and utterances I make, they were not of me, they were not mine. I barely understood what I was doing but I did it.
At the point where I raised my palm to use the foreign Energy was when I realized that this was just overkill, I didn't expect anybody to survive this, not even myself.
But alas, my thoughts and expectations don't always manifest into reality. Sorcery was much broader than the concept of Elemental Conjuration and Manipulation.
My skin was completely reduced to a smoldering mass of horrible ash. My face was deformed and my eyes were burnt close.
I no longer felt any pain since all of my nerves and pain receptors were either burnt completely or damaged and I fell face flat since I could no longer feel my limbs.
"In one second this guy turned this place into an inferno. Amazing." Christopher said.
Both his palms were burnt and the left side of his face had a burn scar, he was surprisingly not dead.
Him and a few other men seemed to have survived although not without burn wounds.
'How was this possible?' I thought to myself.
"I told you Amos. I am one of the best Fortification Sorcery Users out there, something like this can't kill me!" Christopher said, although he was feeling dizzy and was staggering before finally falling face flat on the floor.
The one who Christopher was referring too; Amos, was already dead and his cremated corpse was right next to where Christopher lost consciousness.
I may have fallen to the floor but I was still conscious of all that was around me for some odd reason.
The Fortification Sorcery working was beyond me as I could not understand how they were able to survive the furnace I created.
Atop the heads of those that survived was a Sorcerers Circle with symbols different from those in my Flame Circles and from that Circle hovering above their heads intricate shapes were casted down all around the men, this was what protected them.
Some of their protective coverings faltered in a few locations where the shapes were burnt apart and did damage to them. It was brilliant to me.
Christopher surely didn't fall merely because of the heat but maybe because he was at his limit and couldn't bear the pain from his surely ruptured organs, even though he may possibly have Sorcery that quickened his healing he would surely not be able to bear it.
[A/N: This is an assumption from my MC's Point Of View. But anyway, Yes, Christopher does have Sorcery that helps him heal faster, how did Azur come to this conclusion? Well, he didn't, it's just an assumption since he is coming to understand that Sorcery is more complex than he thought. Christopher most likely collapsed because it depletes a lot of Brio to maintain the quick healing.]
"What are we gonna tell the Boss now?!" One of the men protested in annoyance over Christophers unreasonably arrogant behavior.
"At least we have most of the other criminals outside, let's just go." Another said while aiding his comrade to lift Christopher.
"And leave the friggin' Stove guy here!!?" He protested by referring to me.
Just three of the men survived and two of them were already moving out with Christopher while the other one screamed to himself in disbelief.
"He looks like something your wife would make." One of the men thought being humorous in this situation would help.
"My wife is a great cook!!!" The man screamed and ran after them, leaving me alone in the Crypt.
"The beasts will come out of hiding and devour him if he still lives anyway and the Guardian of this Crypt is still here too. I doubt he is alive so let's not worry for his life but worry for our own." The voice of reason in the three said as they left.
'Am I dead or alive?' I wondered.
-{If You Were Dead Even The Earth Itself Would Rejoice.}
"That's how it is. I understand." I said to her.
-{Now Go To Sleep For Me. Thank You Sir} She weirdly said and I immediately lost consciousness and my view of the world faded.
…
-{For goodness sake this isn't how we should be doing this!!}
It turns out my brain activity continues even after going unconscious, I never get to rest. It's like there are multiple layers of reality stacked in my psyche.
"Will I ever know peace in this accursed existence of mine?" I asked.
-{Of course not!} The strange voice screamed out loudly. It was the voice of the Consciousness that plagued my mind before.
Then silence reigned.
That was the last of it, the Rebound of the sentient Energy finally completely passed over.
It has ended, for now.
In this dream-like and tranquil space all I could see was what Madden had forced me to see.
I cremated a child. I killed an old man. I murdered countless innocent people. I destroyed everything there.
What is beyond the moment I opened my eyes in Stein's Natural Selection, what more sins could I have committed.
I vividly felt my body curl up like before, when I was on the Zephyr's wagon.
This was a first, I didn't want to wonder or think about anything anymore.
"Thinking hurts."
