Chapter 9 - Truth That Is Disguised By Time

After the bloody battle that took place that night, Gideon, who suffered severe injuries, had to stay unconscious overnight due to heavy blood loss.

By great force, they finally had to buy time to carry out their mission agenda to Cadaverial to treat Gideon until he recovered.

At that time Jacob and Castor seemed to be discussing something serious face to face, Castor showed the mysterious girl's chain dagger weapon that he managed to snatch when they fought.

Jacob, who Castor thinks knows a lot of things, looks very serious observing the weapon as if he knows something about it.

Meanwhile, Agatha and Victor along with several girls who were with Gideon in the middle of the village were taking care of Gideon who was drooping weakly on a bed.

Victor also asked Agatha about who exactly the mysterious girl was who had harmed them to make Gideon like that.

Agatha explained based on what the girl said that she was from Grimdale who came to avenge the four of them after the serial massacre they had carried out on the Grimdale troops in several villages in recent months.

Victor, who was still innocent, expressed his desire to invite the four of them to look for Grimdale's whereabouts after the mission in Cadaverial was completed in order to avenge what the mysterious girl had done to his friends.

Suddenly Agatha smiled amused by the child's innocence, she explained again about the existence of Grimdale which was still shrouded in mystery and no one even knew for sure where the vampire kingdom was.

In the midst of what they were doing, Gideon suddenly realized, the girls who surrounded him also looked very happy to see Gideon who had regained consciousness.

"Uh...Aww..., oh..., hey ladies, it's good to see you again...Aw...", said Gideon who still felt pain.

"Oh look who just woke up! Our handsome heroic prince!", Agatha quipped to Gideon who looked happy with the presence of the village girls who had taken care of him.

"Agatha...?", Castor gently called out to Agatha while patting his partner's right shoulder.

The girls seemed amused by Gideon who could still tease them in his weakened state.

"Victor, want to come with me? There are other important things we need to do right away.", Jacob said to Victor.

They both rushed to the Helberg village hall while carrying sacks of materials that they had managed to mine in the Eclipsia mountains at that time.

At the village hall, Helberg's best blacksmiths had been gathered by the village chief to assist them in making weapons that they would soon use in their mission in Cadaverial later.

Castor, who was basically someone who cared about his friends, approached Gideon and advised him to be more careful next time.

He asked Gideon to reduce his reckless nature, because in addition to endangering his own safety, it also made his other comrades hassle and worry about him.

Gideon also bowed reluctantly to hear Castor's advice, because he personally respected Castor as his comrade in arms.

Agatha, who seemed to be still annoyed with Gideon, continued to stare at him while ruffling her waist every time she thought of Gideon's behavior, which seemed to take everything too lightly and sometimes was also childish.

Meanwhile, the villagers were busy working together to clean up the rest of last night's chaos by collecting the body parts of the vampires that were scattered in the village courtyard to be scorched.

Jacob and Victor passing along the village road also met the residents who asked about the progress of Gideon's condition, they seemed very worried about Gideon's condition who had been seriously injured by the incident.

"Thank you for worrying about him, he is fine and will recover soon," Jacob replied to the residents who asked him.

Jacob and Victor arrived at the village hall, where the village chief and the blacksmiths were waiting to welcome them.

"Thank you for what you have done to protect us, in return let me help you to prepare whatever you need for your next trip.", said the village chief.

Jacob also thanked them again for all their kindness and willingness to help him and his comrades, he handed over a sack of Purgatorite he had brought to the blacksmiths and begged them to help them make weapons that they would later use on the mission to Cadaverial.

He also handed over a bag of gold and silver coins in exchange for the blacksmiths who would help him, but the blacksmiths refused Jacob's gift, they considered that what Jacob and his comrades had done was a great sacrifice that they could not pay for anything.

So they also wanted to return the favor and kindness of the four of them by helping them prepare everything they would need for their next mission for free.

"Victor, I think you did the best you could to help our heroes, I'm very proud of you son, if your mom and dad were still around to see you, they would feel the same way I do.", said the village chief who praised Victor.

Victor was silent, again it inadvertently made his heart feel a little sad, but Victor continued to try to strengthen his heart because he did not want to be dragged down too long into his sadness and sorrow.

The village chief approached Victor to hugged and rubbed the boy's head.

"You will be a fierce hero one day, try your best son...", said the village chief to Victor.

They immediately rushed to work on weapons for the Light Scourge, in the midst of what the blacksmiths were doing Jacob showed the mysterious girl's weapon he brought to the village chief to ask questions that he himself was not sure about.

Instantly the village chief was very surprised when observing every detail of the weapon, according to him based on the carving motifs and ornaments found on the weapon explained that the weapon was a weapon that was hundreds of years old.

He also added that if observed more carefully the weapon came from the Crestvalian royal dynasty which had mysteriously disappeared after a great war that occurred hundreds of years ago, most likely it belonged to the late legendary Crestvalian king, because there was an engraving of the king's name on the blade of the weapon.

But he himself did not understand how the centuries-old weapon could be in the hands of the mysterious girl who attacked Jacob's three comrades in the horrific events that occurred last night.

"I knew it before...", Jacob said after hearing what the village chief explained.

Victor, who was listening to the conversation between Jacob and the village chief, looked astonished at something that he felt strange about.

"Crestvalian? Isn't that kingdom just an ancient legend?", Victor asked in surprise.

The village chief told Victor that Crestvalian and Grimdale were two kingdoms that had been involved in a dispute that led to the outbreak of a great war between humans and vampires who inhabited Lacrimosgoth in the past.

The long war caused the two kingdoms to mysteriously vanish so that great chaos began to occur throughout the land of Lacrimosgoth.

Years after the war, humans began to colonize again and build a new civilization without the influence and power of a kingdom, until the birth of the no-man's land villages that now stand across the land of Lacrimosgoth, one of which includes Helberg.

"So..., all this time the scary tales about the existence of the Grimdale vampire kingdom and the legends about the Crestvalian kingdom were true?", Victor asked.

"From the available evidence and what I have observed, I think so, the existence of Grimdale is not just a scary fairy tale to scare little children and the legend about Crestvalian is not just a fiction story...", replied the village chief.
