Chapter 17 - The Hidden Boss of the Honor List

"The questions are so difficult! I can learn a lot from this!"

"Master Muzi, are you there? Do you know the developer of this system? Give me the address. I want to send him something!"

"This guy is so despicable. It's too hateful!"

"What an unexpected bonus. I can't sleep at night!"

"Who passed the eleventh challenge? Can anyone give me the matching algorithm?"

"The dog author did it on purpose! Which one of you is going to write the required code?"

"It's so much fun! I can't help myself at all!"

In the technical group chat in Li Yi's QQ, the group members spoke enthusiastically. The senior group members who usually did not send any messages appeared one after another, full of resentment.

The challenges were addictive, especially after one came into contact with a new algorithm. This highly challenging activity firmly attracted the attention of the technicians. They were tortured to death, but they refused to give up.

Li Yi knew nothing about the lively situation in the technical group. He continued to invest in the writing of new algorithmic knowledge and the design of more level questions.

It was late at night.

Zhang Haitao, Lin Hang, Liu Wenfeng, and the others returned to the dormitory humming happily, their faces full of smiles.

"Old Li, here's your supper." Zhang Haitao placed a Malatang on Li Yi's desk.

"Thanks!" he said, not stopping what he was doing.

"Old Li, why are you still writing! Take some time to order something and rest first! It won't taste good when it's cold." Seeing Li Yi's busy appearance, Lin Hang kindly reminded him.

Li Yi nodded and finished writing a section of the program. Then, he opened the takeaway box of Malatang and began to eat supper.

A cloud of steam rose, and the aroma spread.

Li Yi separated the disposable chopsticks and began to eat noisily.

"How was the social event today? Do you have a harvest code?" Li Yi asked his roommates with a smile.

Zhang Haitao and the others seemed to be waiting for Li Yi's question. They could not help but smile happily.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. The quality of the English Department girls is surprisingly high. Those four girls are all fair-skinned and beautiful. They have figures and looks. You really missed out this time!" Lin Hang chuckled and introduced.

"That's right! And they're all very enthusiastic and not difficult to get along with. I think there should be a chance this time!" Liu Wenfeng nodded and said happily.

"You all found someone? You didn't leave one for me?" he asked between bites.

It could only be said that the female dormitory Zhang Haitao had chosen for the social gathering this time was too suitable. The English major, accounting major, and the medical major were all feminine majors. Almost all of the students were girls. Most of them had not been with anyone for three years. If they liked each other, they could easily succeed.

"Don't worry about that. We already know who we're going for. There won't be any internal strife." Zhang Haitao laughed and continued, "As for your partner, we'll arrange it for you immediately after we turn them into our girlfriends."

"That's right, that's right. When we ourselves have meat to eat, we definitely won't let you starve!" Liu Wenfeng laughed.

"Forget it! I'll find someone myself. All the best!" Li Yi thought for a moment, then smiled and declined.

"You stay in the dormitory every day. How can you have the time to look for someone? The semester is about to end. You should get a girlfriend before you graduate. It would be a pity not to fall in love after four years in university," Lin Hang reminded.

"I don't think I'll be so busy next semester! It won't be that hard for me to find some time to find a girlfriend. I don't think it's reliable for me to wait until you guys get girlfriends before you can introduce me to someone." Li Yi teased with a faint smile.

Seeing Li Yi look down on them, the three of them could not help but be angry.

"Believe it or not, I can end my bachelorhood this semester." Lin Hang rolled his eyes and said confidently.

Li Yi was a little surprised. He looked at Lin Hang and asked in surprise, "Are you serious? What happened to you last night that made you so confident?"

"Hmph!" Lin Hang smiled confidently and snorted.

"Old Li, you really missed out this time!" Zhang Haitao patted Li Yi's shoulder and turned to walk to his bed. He held his phone and started chatting.

Lin Hang and Liu Wenfeng did the same. They returned to their dorms and chatted with the girls.

The small talk ended there.

Li pursed his lips, finished his supper quickly and continued to work hard.

Meeting girls would only affect the speed with which he coded and the efficiency with which he gained new knowledge by entering the 'library'. Li didn't have time to find a partner.

The days passed.

The time came to the end of June and the date for the final exam finally arrived.

In Room 407, Zhang Haitao, Lin Hang, and the others restrained themselves a little. They no longer had any fun chatting with the girls and were preparing for the final exam.

As usual, Li Yi was busy filling in the challenge questions for the challenge levels, learning about new algorithms, and setting up the various sub-requires of the simulation laboratory.

After more than 20 days of online testing, the challenge system had dissuaded many technical noobs. At the same time, many experienced technical big shots had also participated. The total number of challengers was maintained at more than 10,000, and their popularity of the challenge system kept increasing.

In the past twenty days, word had spread like wildfire. As time passed, the challenge system that Li Yi created attracted the attention of countless IT experts in the industry.

Difficult technical questions, novel algorithmic theories, difficult programming tasks, …

This challenge system was rich in content and extremely challenging. It was like a technical challenge game that let the users test technology and learn new algorithms. It was very popular with the technical big shots.

Li Yi thoughtfully arranged three lists on the right side of the front page of the challenge level. The clearing list, the honor list for solving questions, and the expert evaluation list. They displayed the record of the number of challenges, the number of programming tasks, and the accuracy of the review program, respectively.

Everyone on the list was extremely skilled. They were either proficient in various algorithms and good at solving problems, or had superb programming skills and were good at writing programs, or had sharp eyes and rich programming experience.

More than 2,000 technical big shots gathered and competed with each other on the rankings. It was very lively.

These people came from different technical groups and all knew each other from the technical forum. Who was on the list and what their ranking was… Just by looking at their nicknames, one could tell who these people were.

"Old Yang, you passed level 13! Impressive!"

"Damn, Old Ghost Chen is so powerful. You actually got that question for level 14? You actually passed?"

"Is there anyone who can share the resources of the new algorithm? I'll use the multi-calculus method to exchange for information on the four-dimensional heap algorithm. I can even pay you!"

"What the hell is a four-dimensional pile algorithm? Master Ye, can you introduce it?"

"The big shot of the rankings has appeared. I am trembling. Please share with me the answer for the 12th question."

"For the 8th level, who knows about the meta-exchange algorithm? I'll give you 1,000 points for the answer!"

Ever since the event was announced, the members' daily discussion about technology in the technical QQ group changed. They were all discussing the content of the challenge. They were either looking for new algorithm information or thinking of solutions… Many technical big shots who had been inactive for many years appeared one after another.

Comparing the nicknames on the rankings, it was obvious who was stronger and who was weaker. It was an eye-opener for many new technical noobs.
