Another Monday morning jade had to get ready for work, her alarm rung so loud she had no idea she increased the volume last weekend after she missed the first bus heading to the Train station, she had to dash to the bathroom wash her mouth, turn on the heater so she can bath warm water the July season weather isn't friendly from may it starts raining nonstop although September is the worst rains fall in Nigeria nonstop during these months. She had paid for three hoodies from the next shop at the junction she had to pay an installment for the sales girl to keep it for her, she told her it takes three weeks to keep an installment, especially a limited edition outfit.

Jade slammed the alarm as it has rung provoking her who woke up Monday morning and feels happy well jade is one of those people that hates Monday even when she was in high school she will prefer to skip Monday's class and stay home. She pulls out from the duvet her whole room chilled from the cold air conditioning, her phone chimes into notification is the receipt of her bills for the water, lights, most especially the foodstuffs. Jade sigh throwing her phone into the bed she staggered to the bathroom her eyes still heavy she wish to sleep for extra minutes but that will cost her a quarter of her salary Mr. Dominic had strictly relayed the rules last week any employee who failed to follow the rules will pay dearly for it from deducting of salary and extra labor in the office.

Jade pressed the paste onto her brush after applying the nevea mask cream on her face. She sigh again she had no intention to continue like this for the rest of her life, she need a better life and that doesn't have to do with working for someone somehow she had to put in the effort to work.

Jade finished with her morning routine and went back to make her bed, have her shower before doing the cleaning putting all the trash she litter in the kitchen, she Carried the bag outside when the security man said hello to her, he was in his mid-forties the one in charge of the entire building.

"Good morning mr Goodman" jade answered back it was still early in the morning he had a conversation with jade before she went back inside, she check the time it was almost clocking 7:am she have to get to work before 7:30 so she put on her white and black mr Dominic said earlier soon they are going to print uniforms for all the staffs sooner. She took her handbag and switched off the air conditioning and the water heater including the lights connecting to everything she was going to make sure this light last over a month.

Jade has no car of her own although she has been wishing for one, that's one dream that is not going to happen anytime soon she can barely have a boyfriend. She adjust her hoodie as the coldness of the morning brush her face she felt the wind, why is June so cold yet September isn't even close, soon she was at the bus stop when the yellow unprinted bus slowly came to a halt people were finding their way to get in that's the cheap transportation you can find anything that makes you miss that bus be ready to face normal cab dudes or book a ride. She can't deal with that right now she has a lot to do than spend extra money on unnecessary needs.

As the bus head to the train station, the clouds seem to clear into a sunny morning anyway jade did not trust it sooner is going to pour heavily that's how it happen last week Wednesday when everyone thought the day was going to be better with a dry environment driving someone to visit cold stone for some sprinkle ice-cream it all turns out rain fell heavily that it gave birth to flood, most of the street were covered with flooding one will think the cars packed along the street will soon sink.

She lay her head in the window the lady sitting near her had vegetables in her basket with her nine years old son wearing a white shirt and blue shorts with a pair of Adidas sneakers from the designs you can easily tell it was authentic Adidas. They both glance at each other when he notices jade was checking him out.

"Is yours missing" he retorted back to his mom who was lost in her thought and immediately looked at her son and then back at jade, jade find it hard to swallow the saliva in her throat.

"I have told you many times to be Nice to people do you have to say that Riley"  the bus got to its destination, and the lady push her son forward as she grab her basket of vegetables, jade took her bag as well and follow, the boy turn to her and eyed her badly. She had to cross to the other end, the supermarket is already open the cleaners were already cleaning the outside and the aisle rearranging items, they exchanged greetings as jade went to her desk, her table already clean and shining.

"Good morning jade, I was calling your phone," her colleague said from her corner setting her desk and waiting for the first customer to pay for their items.

"I'm sorry Brie my phone was in my bag" Brie is jade closet person in TRUNTS supermarket, they had worked together for the past two years they are connectable.

"Mondays are the worst day can they eliminate it from the days of the week is exhausting," Brie said putting on her tag when mr Dominic showed up, you can notice him from afar because before he gets to you his scent already does.

"Good morning Mr. Dominic" both of them greeted, he blinks his eyes before he sniffle rolling the Rolex on his wrist.

"Maybe both of you did not get the memo- jade interrupted not letting him finish.

"We just greeted you Mr Dominic I think you just don't get the memo if you won't respond to greeting then no need to do it" Brie poke jade she had advised her to always ignore Dominic he's ego and pride only charged within the halls of this supermarket outside this dude calms like a pure bottled water sitting pretty in the freezer.

"Don't ever interrupt me when I'm speaking jade, I'm having a brief thirty minutes meeting get settled and join I don't wanna come down here to remind you both, especially you jade?" he said and walked out, Brie chuckled putting the chocolate bars in one tray they retail few last weekends.

"Does he feels we feel intimidated he's just freaky annoying like the kid I met on the bus today" Brie paused on her track of arranging the chocolate bars?

"What kid"? She asked unwrapping one of the chewing gum from her purse.

"Just a kid I think he caught me checking him out... not in a bad way,"  jade said standing up and changing her sneakers into a Zara slipper.

"It took you two months to check out Jerry after all my persuasion and yet you are checking a kid out," Brie said focusing her attention on jade.

"I told you Jerry wasn't my type, I know I'm single, and getting into a relationship this time has to do with a lot of effort and I'm not ready for that" jade walked around from her desk to Brie's desk putting the chocolate bar correctly, Brie noticed and nod.

"I think you wanted friends with benefits, regardless you would've accepted drinks, Jerry is a sweet boy" Brie tried to be convincing.

"Jerry is too slow for me besides he has a girlfriend," jade said, Brie looked surprised.

"Just say you like bad boys, you want a dude like Travis you gotta be Kylie fucking Jenner" brie teased. Jade smiled well she is right she is attracted to dudes who had tats, dreads, more into dark skinned.

"His girlfriend isn't in this state baby girl, he's not married jade I swear to God Jerry likes you," Brie said following up to the conference hall for the staff meeting. She reminded her about Jerry again!

"I don't want him Brie can we change the topic, I know you like Jerry because he has money I'm not ready to like a guy for what he has I have made so many mistakes in life I just don't want to involve myself into messy situations," jade said pressing the elevator the conference hall is the last floor of the building, they get inside of the elevator continuing their conversation.

"Hahahaha" Brie burst out laughing jade knew what that mocking laughter is all about.

"Don't say that if is what I'm thinking else I will kick your ass". Brie surrender her two hands up in the air yet her lips shook with laughter.

"You don't believe don't you" jade kept a serious face crossing her hands on her breast.

"Netflix is misleading if you meant fairy love tales, especially after recommending Maid in Manhattan heck no jade men like Marshall don't exist" the elevator chimes open as they both got out, jade thought over what Brie just said she always continually says these.

Just in time they were ten minutes late everyone already present, jade caught Brie giving the manager eye contact she has a slight crush on him yet she keeps it to herself, Brie is a hooker and a one-night stand type of girl she doesn't believe in love.

Dominic looked at them sternly as they sat opposite each other, jade eyed him looking back at Brie, Brie is somehow scared of Dominic so she always watches jade's tone for her.

"Jade and Brie" Dominic muttered jade looked at him from the dead corner of her eyes, one thing she's not gonna do is respect this man in brown suits if he wants it he should reciprocate it.

"TRUNTS doesn't revolve around you two and secondly I won't take your silly behaviors in here like I said any messes will be cleaned up and each of every one of you must take responsibility," he said looking directly at jade, of course, he meant that to her anyways he can go to hell with the obsession.

"Information reaching me from MD we need a new manager well our manager is going back to school to run his master degree" he pause as the entire room clapped jade knew Brie is going to be sad about this last time they discussed Anthony she said he has a girlfriend who lived with him the best she can do is have sex with him and tell him bye.

"The slots are only open for employees who had worked for two years and more, interested person can forward and apply for this position I will give it 24hrs since Anthony would be leaving tomorrow by then our contestants can apply"

The meeting came to an end as everyone goes to their respective positions. Jade told Brie about the plan of having Anthony and now is a good time it will make sense if she does it before he leaves for his studies.

As jade covers for Brie she thought about herself, she's planning to quit this job she doesn't have a shot for the manager candidate Dominic will be the first to eliminate her, secondly, she hasn't had sex for a long time plus Brie has been trying her best to hook her up with all the guys she had brought up yet she feels no connection, maybe its time to grab someone son and feel better. She's going to think this through before quitting and going back to the beauty industry to try her luck again this time if she fails then it was written in her destiny as a failure.
