Everyone looked up when Bane mentioned the thief. Aella frowned as well because she didn't know why Bane was lying just to save Lucila. There had been no thief last night, even if there was, why didn't he tell her until now?
"T-Thief?!" Aurelia asked with disbelief.
"Bane, what are you saying? How can a thief enter the house and you did not inform any of us?" the Baroness asked with a hand on her chest.
"I apologize, Baroness. I did not want to alert you guys last night as I had already taken care of it. He must have entered through the window and he ran away as soon as he saw me," Bane said and Baroness Meleena gasped.
"Heavens! There had not once been a burglary case in this estate, never once. How did this happen?" the Baroness used her hand to cover her mouth in shock.
"So the thief took my jewel? If you saw him then why did you not stop and confront him, Bane?" Aurelia asked as she looked up at Bane.
