The people around them stayed silent as Bane's word seemed to have struck a reaction from them. Most of them weren't in the mansion when her marital status was announced and Aella couldn't really blame them for the way they stared at her and the male next to her.
"A-Are you serious?" the lady moved her eyes from Aella, then to Bane then finally to the Baroness as if to confirm the news.
"Y-Yes, my eldest daughter is married now," Baroness Meleena said sheepishly and it was her response that made the uproar in the conversation increase.
"How come none of us knew about this, Baroness?" the woman who had wanted Aella for her son asked with a disapproving look.
"And more importantly, how come we were not invited to the wedding? Do you know my husband can take this as an insult to his face? After everything he had done for your family?" she bristled as though she was about to burst out in anger.
