Aella could feel herself squirming but when she opened her eyes, all she could see was darkness.
She squinted, trying her best to see beyond the bleakness which gripped her vision but it was impossible.
What was this? Where was she? Those were the first thoughts that filled her head as she looked around to check if she would see anything.
Nothing. There was nothing here.
Was this another nightmare? Or was she simply in a state of unconsciousness?
Even though she couldn't feel anyone's presence, she was about to call out for someone out there when she heard something from behind her.
Her body naturally tensed up as she didn't know what just made noise. With her eyes being deficient at the moment, her ears were hyperactive now.
The same sound came again and she listened carefully. It was like someone was pulling against metals, maybe chains? She wasn't sure but it was definitely metal.
