Slowly waking up from his sleep he was greeted by his mother opening the door with a look of confusion and shock. She was saying something but it fell on faint ears as Seth was just waking up.
Getting tired of Seth taking so long to wake up she yelled, "Seth! Wake already and tell me what is going on, I don't understand there is this weird screen in front of my face and I can't get it away from my face."
"God, how am I supposed to know? I just woke up there isn't even anything in front of your face are you okay mom?" Seth's annoyance quickly turned into concern as there was nothing in front of her face.
Just as he said that though a screen popped up in front of his face which turned his concern into excitement seeing what it said.

Seth was ecstatic when he read all of what the system has said. He couldn't believe that what he dreamt of was coming true.
"Okay I get it now mom, it's like a video game. Just think 'exit' or 'close' and the system should go away." Seth explained the system's basic functions to his mother and told her to go and explain it to his sister because she'd freak out more than his mother would.

It took Seth a few minutes to fully process what was going on. 'So... I guess I am the main character of this story' he thought chuckling to himself because he can joke around even at times like these.
'So I need to go and clear a dungeon to fully unlock my system, that sounds very dangerous but isn't this what I wished for? A world full of action where I can do anything I want.' Seth was ready to go outside and start going on a rampage but he calmed himself down. He knew that he wasn't invincible and one mistake probably meant death.
'Alright I already have an idea of where to find a rank F dungeon now I just need to prepare myself to fight monsters, I wonder what this Phantom Impaler is that I was gifted. Open Inventory.'
The system panel popped up and showed a screen full of boxes. They were in a 10x5 row and there was an arrow on the bottom right which most likely took him to another page of his inventory. 'Nice it looks like I have infinite storage, that's totally not a cheat.' Seth said while pressing on the first box which held his gift.

He tapped yes and then something suddenly materialized in his right hand. He looked at what kind of weapon it was and was astonished by the artwork on his weapon. It was a spear, the shaft was made of some type of medal that matched his pitch black eyes with golden strands flowing up the shaft into the spearhead which was made of the same type of medal with the strands turning into purple-like veins going towards the tip of the spear. It was simply beautiful to look at it, it was like the weapon was drawing him in and making him pay attention to only the spear.
'What an amazing gift, thank you, unknown patron!' Seth joked while another screen from the system popped up.

'Wow that is way better than I thought it was going to be, I guess it lives up to its looks. I wonder how I am going to be able to unlock the other bonus effects. I'll most likely have to level it up.' Seth was still in amazement that he was able to get such a unique weapon from his ever-so-loving patron.
'I think I am ready for the dungeon I just need to sneak out of the house so my mom doesn't know what I am going to go and do, it's for the best that she doesn't know. I don't want her to worry more than she already is but I have to unlock all of the system so I can learn more about it. What could go wrong I am the main character after all.' Seth prepped himself whilst making more jokes about him being the main character in the story.
He opened his window and jumped out of it, his room was on the second floor so it was a bit of a drop but surprisingly it didn't hurt him at all, he quickly started running towards the portal and was amazed at his newfound speed. With the spear equipped, he felt like he was running at least 4 times faster than he previously could run.
As he was running he noticed the sky had gone back to being the same sky blue he knew it as and he felt happy that it went back to normal. 'That would be horrible if we'd have to live all our lives in this new world with the sky always being covered in a black fog.'
Running with his newfound speed was a euphoric feeling that he didn't want to let go of but sadly he reached the park before he could get his fix of dopamine. 'Damn I got here in just 2 minutes and normally if I were to run all the way here it would take me 10 minutes.' He surveyed the park and looked towards the bench he was previously sitting on yesterday night and saw the same blue portal. But this time was different he had new power in him and he felt unstoppable. What are some weak little monsters going to be able to do to me, he thought.
Seth walked up to the portal and when he got near a system notification popped up in front of him.

His blood started to pump faster and faster from the excitement he was experiencing. Without wasting any time he quickly tapped 'Yes' and was pulled into the dungeon. Being pulled into the dungeon felt like he was going on a rollercoaster but at the same time, he felt like he wasn't moving at all. It lasted less than 2 seconds though as he suddenly opened his eyes only to be able to barely see 5 feet in front of him but he could tell he was in some sort of cave-like structure.
'Well damn, maybe I didn't prepare enough for this. I didn't think I'd be brought into a giant cave with no source of light at all.' Seth complained as he realized he didn't think it through and he let the excitement get the better of him.
