Chapter 37 - Heat

"at the festival in idly want anything?" Heath texted

"no not really" Someone replied

"k" he replied

"why cant u come with me?" Heath texted

"u dont allow me to?" Someone replied

"right..."

"so should i come with u next time?" Someone asked

"idk i'll consider" Heath said

Heath was strolling down the road, passing through the festival. "What does she want?"

He went to a jewelry booth and bought a bracelet. A pinkish white silver bracelet. It cost like a hundred Acka. He thought it would look good on her so he didn't mind the cost.

He bought a bag of small popcorn to eat while walking. Cheese and caramel popcorn. (I don't like popcorn -author) He went to the arcade at one point, then he missed the first showing of the band. When he went to the stage, the band was on break. He was frustrated. So he waited for the band to show up. It was in fifteen minutes. He can wait that long. He thinks.

His popcorn was nearly empty, so he went to buy a drink. Just a fruit punch he found randomly near the stage. It was cheaper than the popcorn. He drank halfway in one big sip.

Ten minutes had gone by and he was tired of waiting. But he forced himself to stay still. Then a man came up on stage. A brown trench coat, with an orange shirt that connected with a mask he's wearing. Blue hair and a scar on his right eye. He might not be able to see a hundred percent from it. Or at all maybe.

He held a headless guitar. His left fingers on top of the strings. Different frets. He raised his right hand to the air. The crowd cheered. Heath realized it too late. Far too late. The moment he moved a muscle, the man already dropped his arm and strum the strings. A metal riff sound reaches the entire crowd. Following that sound was a heat wave. A heat wave that set everything and everyone ablaze. The crowd previously cheered, now wail as they burned to crisp. All bones and ash now.

Heath drops his popcorn and fruit punch. And froze.

"He killed everyone and I was too late..."

The man then drop to the ground from the stage. As he landed, he created an explosion under his heels. He walked forth, trampling the burnt corpses. Every step he took was a big explosion explosion.

"Didn't think a sorcerer was here." The man said. In a raspy, hoarse voice

Heath draws "Diamond Ace" from his deck and prepared to attack.

"Hey, I did them a favor. They all say that the dead are going to a better place, right?" The man said, chuckling

"How could you do that? How could you kill so many and just... I'll kill you." Heath stated

"Don't be naïve. You're completely out of your element here, kid. I'll give you one chance to run." The man said

The man then raised one finger above his hair and all the flames from the corpses, stands, stage, and more combined into one. A big spiral of flames. Turned from bright yellow to white.

Heath then hears a faint sound. Sound of crying. Heath immediately runs to the source of the sound and finds a little kid under a booth all curled up.

"Hey, kid! You need to get out of here!" Heath said to the kid

The kid just shook his head, whilst crying. He was too scared to move.

Heath then levels to the kid then asks him in a gentle voice. "What's your name?"

"T-Theo." The kid answered in a shaky voice

"Theo? I had a brother named Theo. What a great coincidence." Heath smiles

"I know you're scared, but I need you to help me out, okay?" Heath smiled at the kid again. His smile reassured Theo. Heath lends Theo a hand and he grabs him. Heath lifts him up and carries him.

The man then pointed his finger at Heath and the combined flames shot out at Heath's direction. Heath jumps up with the kid then casts "Feet Thrusters". He floats above the air. The flames engulfed everything below him.

The man then jumps with an explosion propelling him to Heath and then punches Heath's back. His fist didn't seem normal. It was blackish grey, also very shiny. Heath gets thrown across the festival and lands to a random building at the end of a bridge. He crashes into the building.
