Growing up was a though thing for me, especially when you have only your mother to take care of you. Wait lemme start from the beginning.
My name is Dayo and I just clocked 16 two weeks ago, Abeni my mom takes really good care of me even though we are poor, well actually not that poor but still we feed and that is what really matters at that moment. Tunde, a not so muscular boy, tall, dark, loves to joke a lot, but you don't wanna see him when his angry that is why we nicknamed him Sango( god of thunder) in yoruba land. Oh, i forgot to add, Tunde is a really brilliant guy, he is the number two in the whole school. He should be the number one but he is having trouble beating the lead Sandra Smith.
Sandra is the daughter of one the most richest man in the whole community. Also, she is like the most beautiful girl in the school and luckily we are in the same class. Let me add this but it's not really important right now. Sandra was also my crush. Yeah you heard that, am in love with her but I was the least most popular kid in school so my chances were slim.
There wasn't a day I went to school and won't come back with at least two scars of wound, and i try to hide them from my mom but I think she sees it but waits till am asleep then treats the wound and all i would feel is a tenderly soft hand moving to and fro my body
My mother tries to do the best she can to make me happy after my dad's mysterious disappearance after my naming ceremony, 16 years now he is no where to be found.
If there is any warning a mother has given his child it's to never ever go into the woods. There is claim that an hideous man eater dwells in the forest so we try to avoid the woods plus we've seen some cases where only some parts of the body were returned home.
