Chereads / Scream (part two) / Chapter 9 - In The Old Cabin

Chapter 9 - In The Old Cabin

The second five arrived at the destination where the tracker led them and they saw a very old tree with few leaves standing in front of a wooden house, a cabin. Jane was the first person to look up the tree after a drop of blood dropped on her leg.

"Is that a somebody?" she asked looking up the tree. Amanda looked at her and took her gaze up the tree, likewise David, Jake and Fraser.

"That's Charlie" Jake replied shortly after a short gaze.

"What is he doing up their?" Fraser asked, still looking at Charlie who was hanged on the tree.

'I think he was hanged" David replied.

'What the fuu…"

"Oh! my God' Jane cried.

"Stay out of this, save your lives" Charlie panted slowly from the tree as blood was gushing out slowly from his mouth.

"Stay out of this and sa…." A hand penetrated into his chest and came out with his heart. Charlie's blood poured on Jane's face and she screamed loud as the Charlie's body was falling down to them. After the thud, they ran into the cabin and hid themselves.

They heard a footstep after seeing Clairee's shadow. She opened the door and walked slowly into the cabin.

"You think you can hide from me? I told you five to stay away from this. Now I have to hunt another five friends" she snickered and chuckled loudly. Fraser was flattered and freaked out.

She walks slowly around the old cabin chuckling after each step. Jake covered Fraser's mouth with his right palm while David, Jane and Amanda remained quiet, monitoring each step Clairee was taking.

"Think you can hide?" Egron chuckled after he appeared in front of Jane.

"Aaarrrrgh" Jane screamed loudly and ran off the position heading towards the door but Egron made her stop before she could reach the door. Jane found herself flowing in the up to the air. As shocked she was, she tried to reach for the door bars while still hanging in the air but the more she tries, Egron kept drawing her back without touching her.

"No! No! No! No!" Amanda screamed.

"Jane" Fraser released her mouth from Jake's hand.

"Just let her go" Jake said after they stood up from the hiding spot.

"Or what?"

"Please" Jake pleads, sobbing slowly.

"Please just let her go…please" he cried. Jane was still hanging in the air.

"Is she your girlfriend?" Egron looked at Jane.

"Y'all should have listened when you were told to stay and mind your business, now you just have to sacrifice one of you to keep my peace" he said and noticed how confused to seemed to be.

"What?" David asked surprisingly and looked at Jake.

"I will take it instead, just let her go" Jake said.

Immediately, Egron let Jane down and made Jake to flow towards him. Jake hanged in front of him, looking into Clairee's eyes and struggling to breathe.

"You could have stopped this at first when it was about to start" Egron groaned at Jake.

"I'm sorry" Jake begged. Jane, still on the ground, saw how Jake was struggling up there, rushed up and held Egron's clothe.

"Let him go, let him…." Egron fringed her away before she could finish saying what she wanted to say. She landed on one of the doors of the cabin and crashed with it. David rushed her and helped her up.

"Are you okay Jane?" he asked her while helping her up.

"We have to stop him David, we have to, we need to" Jane replied.

"Do something Amanda, do something" Fraser cries, holding Amanda's hand.

They all stood, watching Jake as he was dying slowly. Fraser and Jane's eyes were filled with tears, likewise Amanda. Before Jake could breathe his last, a lady at her early forty, appeared from nowhere and attacked Egron from behind. She poured some white powder on him and he made a very scary noise and disappeared. Jake fell to the ground, coughing and groaning in pain. The lady helped him up and the rest ran up to them. Jake looked at the lady and thanked her.

"You okay?" she asked him.

"Yea…yeah I think I am" he replied. Jane rushed up to him and kissed his lips slowly.

"I was scared…" she cried.

"That's so sweet" Fraser smiled. Amanda looked at the lady and returned her eyes to Jake's face. Deborah's bright face was not even frightened and her brown hair was packed with a green band as few hairs were tucked behind her ears. She was wearing a black tracksuit and white arm polo.

"Who are you and…what are you doing here?" David asked slowly.

"You can call me Deborah" she replied, tying the white powder in a big black bag she was holding.

"Who are you and…what are you doing here?" Fraser repeated the question as if Deborah didn't hear it at first.

"Why didn't you listen?" she asked slowly, looking at Jake.

"What?"

"What?"

"What…what is she asking?' Fraser asked.

"Why didn't you all listen at first?" Deborah asked again.

"Listen to what exactly….

"Exactly listen to what…what are you talking about?" Jane asked Deborah.

"Don't you know what I'm talking about Jake?" she asked Jake.

Jake looked at Amanda while David was already looking at him.

"We wanted to stop him or her or whatever" Jane replied.

"You think you can stop Egron?"

"That's what we are trying to know" Amanda joined.

"Who are you…am not really sure that I have known…

"I've been in this position before and I bet that you should listen to me in whatever I say or have to say" Deborah reply, looking at Fraser.

"You've been in this position before? I'm gonna ask again, who are you?" Fraser continued.

"Can you stop Fraser…please" Jane snickered.

"I'm trying to be active and mean, don't try to…

"We raised Egron three years ago in the white house" Deborah started.
