"I hope you don't mind if you go over to my neighbors and ask them to show you where I get eggs from" Grandama asked after they had had breakfast, "okay sure" Emma replied with delight leaving what she was doing on her laptop. Anything for grandmothers. She went straight downstairs to their neighbours, meeting a boy in the courtyard, "hey" she said, he stared at her as though he didn't hear what she said, she walked past him when he now replied, "how are you.....not seen you before" he said, well he was strikingly good looking, so even if she had wanted to go on and act as if she hadn't heard him, his looks just cast a spell on her, she turned around, "oh yeah,Mrs Potts is my grandmother" Emma said, "oh you're Mrs Potts grandmother" he said as though surveying her, she looked at him ridiculously sighing to herself, "well I'm pleased to meet you" he said and continued what he was doing. She met another young man on the stairway, "uhm, hello" she said uncomfortably, how could there be so many people in one place, she thought, he nodded starring at her, quite good looking but not as strikingly good as the first, "my grandmother is Mrs Potts and had asked me to ask you guys where you get eggs from....I don't know" Emma said at once without breathing. He smiled, "Mrs Potts granddaughter, she's always speaking of you" he said, "well good things I hope" Emma said smiling, "surely"he said, letting her through the stairs to meet with his own parents, Mr And Mrs Zane. After she had met with them, he took her along with him, down the stairs and soon they were on the streets, the guy downstairs whose name was, Maly had shouted after them to be careful. They soon entered a farm, where there were several cows, horses in stables, fowls ran about in several pens and the place smelt of goats as though only goats were there. There was a cowboy bent over a cow, it looked like he was about to milk it. The guy who led Emma to the farm, touched the cowboy who on turning to see him smiled and they soon got talking. They talked about the animals mainly, about the teen and youth activities that were coming up soon in their community. Emma eavesdropped at their conversation interested. They soon stopped talking as though they had just noticed her, she pretended to be busy walking around the farm house and speaking with the animals, "hello" the guy who had brought her said, she turned, he introduced her to the cowboy,"meet my friend Emma, Mrs Potts granddaughter" he said, the cowboy nodded ,'friend?' Emma thought, how could he say I'm his friend, "you would surely smell of stables when you get back home"the cowboy said still standing where he was, she smiled, and he bent over to finally milk the cow, who seemed to have been impatient already. "I love the smell" she said and he laughed disbelievingly, "then I guess you're coming from the city", the cowboy said, the other boy who had brought her turned to go, expecting her to follow him, "well let's go" he said on seeing she wasn't following him, "when I'm done here, he'd show me my way home" she said, "oh that guy, he's never free and wouldn't be able to show you your way home" the boy said, the cowboy looked up, "don't worry I'll show her the way back home" the cowboy said.
Emma smiled at the cowboy as soon as the boy who had brought her has left, "what's his name?"Emma asked, "so you mean you don't know the name of the guy who had just brought you here...?" He asked , "well yeah"Emma said twisting some part of her hair, "when did you arrive?" He asked, "just yesterday" Emma said, he nodded, "he is Ryle, everyone in this part of the country side,.... know him very well" the cowboy was saying, "knows him for?"Emma asked slightly irritated, "for many things, he does carpentry jobs for people, plumbing, building and all that one can think of" he said dryly, "I don't think one person can be good in all that" Emma said, "well he claims to be good at all that" the cowboy said smiling.
"So what's your name?" Emma asked when she had helped him to finish cleaning up the farm, "Stewart" he said slowly as if trying to charm her by the way he said it, but she was sure he wasn't trying to. He showed her some more things around the farm and soon she thought she should start for, giving her the eggs she demanded for without collecting money he showed her the way back home. Emma wondered whether Stewart always gave granny eggs like this for free, well if he did he would look for a way to repay him,she thought.
