It's been four days. Four days since Trishanna's shameful... at least it should have been shameful behavior, yet all she felt was a shiver of desire every time she recalled James' kiss. The memory rarely ever left her thoughts, day or night, and the few times she ran into him it flared in her mind, causing her heart to race. Once she caught him staring at her lips, her breast, her body with hooded eyes blazing with desire from across the room. Her breathing became shallow and as soon as Bradley entered, she dragged him off to their room where she made him beg for mercy. Yet no matter how many times they did it, there was always a sense that it was no longer enough.
Bradley sensed something was going on with his mate. He could hardly complete any of his work and, at first, it was a delight. I mean, what man would feel like a strutting peacock at his mate's aggressive desire for his body, but something else was going on. At times, she looked at him with what he would almost count as an apology, or worse guilt, but what could she feel guilty for? Did she think that she was being too clingy? From what Lorenzo told him, her behavior was normal for pregnant females.
It was mid-afternoon, and Bradley held a naked and exhausted Trishanna on his chest. They haven't even ventured out of the room since last night and opted to have something brought in for a late brunch. He stroked gently down her back and felt her legs shift slightly, her body arching into his touch. "Hmm... James...". Bradley's hands stilled, sure that he heard Trishanna's sleepy mumble. James? Why would she say his name? Why? Why now? So many thoughts raced through his head. Thinking back, he realized that James had seemed to distance himself, which now that he thought of it was strange considering he had always been close to Trishanna over the last few weeks. Did something happen between them? Was he upset over what happened in the store? Bradley rubbed his hands over his face. If he wanted answers, he was either going to talk to one or both of them.
Easing himself out from under his pregnant mate, he smiled when she reached for his pillow and hugged it, snuggling under the thin cover he covered her with. Quietly he headed to the shower, got dressed, and headed downstairs. He was heading to James' office when his phone rang. Looking at the screen, he saw it was his secretary. Martha was an older werewolf, almost old enough to be his mother. Yet she was the most competent person he knew. She was a shrewd one, and he was glad that she was on his side.
He answered, and Martha got straight to the point. "Sir, I know you asked that as much work be done remotely, but I'm afraid that your presence is mandatory in this situation." As Bradley listened, he knew that she was right. The new factory that they were constructing has met opposition from a competitor, claiming that they were violating the rights of their workers, a dangerous work environment, no insurance or compensation, the list went on. Bradley sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Alright Martha, email me whatever you have and I will be heading to the main office before we head across to the sight." He could see the older woman nodding her head while she pushed her glasses up her nose. "Already done, sir," was her curt reply and Bradley chuckled. "Martha my love, I could kiss you."
A sharp inhale, had him spinning and he saw Trishanna standing on top of the stairs, wrapped in the thin blanket he covered her with. Tears filled her eyes and she looked like he had just stabbed her in the chest. "Trish honey, it's not what you think". She huffed and spun around, stomping towards their room and slamming the door. Bradley sighed and headed upstairs. He knew it would take a while to calm his female down.
He paused at the door and knocked gently. There were no sounds and he slowly opened the door, not sure if a well-aimed missile would make its appearance. When nothing came flying, he stepped into the room, closing the door. Trishanna sat on the bed, shoulders dejected hugging her pillow. "Baby, it's not what you think. Martha is..." Trishanna flew up, rage and hurt flaring in her eyes, angry tears streaking down her face. "Martha is just the woman you want to kiss, not even a minute after leaving your pregnant mate", she yelled, throwing the pillow at him. Bradley ducked, raising his hands in surrender.
"Just admit it, Bradley, you don't want me. I've gotten too... big. No longer the pretty thing you wanted to be with. Now you're just fed up with me, my needy, clingy ways." The fight drained out of her and she crumpled to the ground, a sob racking through her. Shit, this wasn't good. Bradley rushed to her and scooped her up. Trishanna tried to push away from him, and when that didn't work, she beat on his hard chest. Bradley just held her tighter, and sat on the bed, Trishanna in his lap, gently shushing her and rocking side to side, just as one would do to comfort a child. Soon her sobs turned to sniffles, then to hiccups as she calmed down. Bradley sighed, relieved. Placing a hand on her tear-stained cheek, he gently tilted her face to his. "My love, listen to me, I love you and you alone. I want you and ONLY you. I love your needy and clingy ways." He smiled, a wicked glint in his eyes, "In fact, sometimes I wish to wrap you naked around me like a little koala bear, the only difference is that my cock would be inside you." Trishanna blushed at his boldness and Bradley chuckled again. "The problem I have with that is that I would hate for anyone else to see that luscious ass of yours." Bradley thought she would soon explode with the way her entire body turned red.
"But..." she mumbled. Bradley eased his hand into his pocket and pulled out his phone. He did a quick search and pulled up his company's website. He went to the page that listed the key board members and clicked on a profile. He gave the phone to Trishanna. She took it and stared at it confused. Bradley just raised an eyebrow. Trishanna wiped at her eyes and took another look. It was a photo of an older woman, with greying hair, glasses, and an air of class. She read the name next to the picture, Martha Sawyer, Secretary to the CEO.
"Umm... so she is your secretary?" Trishanna asked. Bradley nodded. "So you didn't really want to kiss her?" Bradley smiled, "I did, but as a son would a mother. I tell you, she certainly scolds me as one." Trishanna smiled, the pained feeling in her heart finally dissolving. Bradley felt her body relax and he planted a kiss on her hair. He explained the basics of what was happening and let her know that he would be leaving immediately for the airport.
Trishanna nodded and kissed him before climbing off and helping him pack a small suitcase. He called Sam asking for his car and soon Bradley kissed her a breathless farewell. Rubbing her belly, Trishanna stayed until she could no longer see or hear the car, and she turned heading towards the backyard, needing to wrap her head around the fact that her mate was the CEO of a huge company. What else did she not know?
