After everyone left, Trishanna and Bradley just sat in silence each in their own thoughts. Bradley spoke first. "I know it's a lot to take in but trust me, we will get through this together." Trishanna sat up and leaned her head on his shoulder. She wanted a distraction so she brought up the first thing that came to mind. "Why did you say, Auntie?" Bradley chuckled. He knew this was going to come about, so he shared the story of his relationship with the councilwoman he's known since he was born.
It took almost an hour as he wanted to share so much of himself and his life with her. He was glad to see that her complexion improved as she laughed at the funny and sometimes overly dramatic portions of his story. Cupping her face, he leaned in and gave her a kiss that was as sweet as it was warm. It was a kiss that told just how much he cared and Trishanna felt its warmth seep down to her bones, melting away all the worries that she had. At least for the moment. Bradley got up and stretched. Pulling his Luna to her feet, he held her hand as they left his office. "Come on love, remember your friend needed you and I for one always try to keep my word."
They found Samuel in his room, laying in bed with a goofy smile on his face. Bradley kissed her at the door and gently pushed her in. Even though his wolf still hated the fact that he was leaving her in a room, with his mate, he knew that right now she needed her friend just as much as her friend needed her. Trishanna rushed to the bed and threw herself on Samuel. He wrapped his arms around her and they just lay there holding each other, just as they used to do as kids, drawing strength from each other.
With a sigh, Samuel gave her one last squeeze before sitting up and leaning against the headboard. "Rosebud, you would not believe what I'm about to tell you. I mean this thing is huge. So huge I wonder how I'm going to handle it." Trishanna smiled. Although her sense of smell is usually that of a human, she now knows that thanks to the pup, some of her senses have improved, and she could smell her friend all over her friend, if you know what I mean.
"Hmm.... let me guess. You've found your mate and it's Alexa?" she teased, seeing that he once again drifted off into a daze with that goofy smile on his face. "Yeah, I found my mate and she is... Hold up! How did you know that?" Trishanna just giggled at his shock looked. "How could I not? The way you both kept looking at each other. Or the stupid smile you would have on the days when you spoke to her. Or maybe the way you always got your panties in a bunch whenever you saw another male talk or even look at her for too long. The signs were hard to miss my friend."
"Damn, and here I thought I was being discreet." Samuel shook his head. "Well, today we confirmed it, and boy oh boy, what a confirmation." The happy smile was back on his face and Trishanna rolled her eyes. "Yeah, I gathered as much considering that even I can smell her all over you." Sammy sniffed his clothes. How can someone look pleased and annoyed at the same time? Guess it's just another one of his skills Trishanna thought to herself. "So, did she accept you?"
"Yes, she did. She even got jealous and beat up a she-wolf that was trying to hit on me. She was so hot that I could hold myself back. Before you know it we were..." Trishanna blocked her ears. "Sammy, I love you like a brother, and just like a brother, I really don't want the details of your sex life. Please, I don't think my stomach can take it and right now it's already sensitive."
"Yeah... I guess you're right. I don't think I'd want to hear details of yours either. Anyway, since you mentioned it, why has your stomach been acting up? Are you sick?" Trishanna's eyes sparkled at his question. "Sammy, I'm glad you asked, cuz I have some news for you. I'm pregnant." Sammy looked a bit confused. "You've done it with Alpha Bradley and you didn't tell me? ME?" he all but shrieked. "I can't believe that you got laid in this pack before me. Heck, technically we didn't go all the way," he mumbled. Trishanna tapped him upside the head.
"No silly. Bradley and I haven't reached there. Although we almost did, but the doctor stopped us, and rightfully so." Samuel shook his head. "I'm confused. Firstly, why would the doctor stop you and why was that a good thing?" Trishanna took a deep breath and started from what happened this morning up to all the way before she came looking for him. At some point, Sammy just listened with an unreadable look on his face. It was at times like this she doesn't know what he was thinking and it makes her worried. When she finished they both just sat in silence.
Sammy stood up and walked to the window. As he stared outside, he asked so quietly that Trishanna barely heard him, but she did. "Should I just kill him? Should I just kill that bastard who is still making your life so difficult?" Turning, she saw just how angry he was. "I should have just killed that bastard when I had the chance. No, killing him now won't change anything. I should have never left you that night." Trishanna stood and went over to her friend.
"Sammy, this is not your fault. That man had his plans for me and if it didn't happen then, it would have happened after you left. Then where would I be? Lost in the dark without you? Forced to be mated to him?" She shook her head. "Even if it is like this now, at least I have found a mate that is willing to accept me and the pup."
Trihsanna hugged Samuel. "I just hope that nothing else happens that threatens the joy we've both found here in Goldmoon." Samuel hugged her back and prayed that the troubling times were now behind them. He gently kissed her brow.
"I hope so too, Rosebud."
