A week passed by, Erik recovered free. Things seemed pretty normal in the camp. Everyone training hard everyday, life was going too normal for everyone it started making soldiers suspicious.
"Commander, I have a question." a soldier asked Emmett.
"Yes?" Emmett asked.
"Why aren't we getting any more reports about any Tyrant sightings or why aren't we going out to scout areas like we used to, or we go for expeditions?" he asked.
"Yes Commander. Is things normal, isn't it too suspicious." other soldier asked.
"Actually there is something major behind this." Emmett replied.
A messenger arrives in Emmett's cabin.
"Commander, May I come in?" Messenger asked.
"Yes, come in." Emmett said.
"Sir, letter from General." Messenger said.
Emmett takes the letter and starts reading it.
"Alright, send them in." Emmett said to the Messenger. The Messenger bowed and left. The soldiers looked everything with a confused look.
"Tell everyone to assemble in the Assembly Hall, its urgent. You will get your answers there only." Emmett said while wearing his cloak and leaving the room.
Everyone assembled in the Assembly Room within fifteen minutes.
"What might be the matter? Why a meeting suddenly?" Aaron asked.
"We are in the same doubt as you Aaron." Jacob said.
"It must be something important. Like, we weren't given orders to leave our camps so there must be something very important." Madelyn said.
"Everyone be quiet, they have arrived." Erik said.
Commander Emmett, Deputy Commander Parker and Captain Lionel enters, followed by few army soldiers.
"Army soldiers? Why are they here?" Ciaran asked.
"Don't know." Selena replied.
Commander and Captain went on the stage while Parker and soldiers stood down.
"Why are you standing down?" one of the soldiers asked Parker.
"Because I too don't know what this assembly is for, so I Emmett told me to stand down." Parker replied.
"I see." The soldier replied.
Emmett went near the mic and begun," I know you all have many doubts currently, don't worry, I'll tell you all everything."
Everyone went silent.
"You all remember in previous expedition against Arachnoia, Captain Ambrose wasn't included, unless the emergency situation arrived? Well he and I was summoned by the General."
Flashback
"Good Morning General." Emmett greeted while shaking hands with the General.
"Good Morning Commander." General greeted while shaking Emmett's hand back.
"Good Morning Captain." General greeted Lionel.
"Good Morning General." he greeted back.
"So tell us General, what was the reason you called for us? Is something bothering?" Emmett asked.
"Actually yes. First take a seat you two I'll tell you." General said while sitting on his chair. Emmett and Lionel took their seats as well.
"So tell us General how we can help you?" Emmett asked.
"You see, recently there was a murder case in your area of Mr. Blake." General begun.
"Yes I am aware of it." Emmett replied.
"Yes, so according to eye witness report, it is said that the murder was done by an Operation Squad member." General said.
"It can't be possible sir." Emmett replied.
"I know that as well, but since its a criminal case, I can't do anything about it. So I am ordered to put Operation Squad operations on hold." General said.
"Are you sure sir? You know this may lead to many disasters." Emmett said.
"I know but orders are orders." General replied.
"I haven't heard of any foolish decision from high ups other than this." Lionel said.
"Lionel?" Emmett said.
"You heard right. How you know that eye witness is right. Even if he is right, how can you say that the Operation Squad member who was involved was actually a Operation Squad member, because as far as I know, every Squad member was busy in training for today's expedition. So no one had the energy to leave the camps. Even if they had left, they would have been back before ten, while the murder took place around midnight.
And stopping us this way means inviting a great danger. What if another Tyrant attack occurs?" Lionel said.
"We'll send in the army then." General said.
"If army could deal with the Tyrants then why have you all created the Operation Squad." Lionel said.
"What do you want to say Lionel?" General asked.
"I think something big is happening. Someone doesn't want us to leave the camps. Either for the free movement of Tyrants, or to restrict Operation Squad members' movements." Lionel said.
"Either way I can't do anything else. I tried my best to convince them but they didn't revoke this order." General said.
"I see." Emmett said.
"I don't care about their orders. Its about dignity and pride of our Operation Squad. I'll personally look into this matter. Lionel said.
"Don't do anything foolish Lionel. I can't save you this time." General said. Lionel nods when his communicator started beeping.
"What happened Lionel?" Emmett asked.
Lionel answered and left as soon as possible.
"Looks like an emergency case." Emmett said to General.
Present
"You all must be wondering why I informed that. And I am well aware of the fact that you all have doubts about not leaving camp since long for any of the Tyrant case.
You all may be aware of the murder case of a rich businessman, Mr. Carter Blake, he was also a patron here.
Eye witness statement states that it was an Operation Squad member who murdered him, so the General has prohibited us from leaving our camps for any missions." Emmett paused.
The assembly started murmuring among themselves. Emmett cleared his throat to silent everyone.
"However-" Emmett was about to say something when Lionel cut him off, "However, I disliked this idea of General and disobeyed everyone's orders due to which General has sent these soldiers to guard our exits and not let anyone out. Right?"
Emmett nodded with a surprise look.
"So Soldiers! They now know your purpose you may head to the gates now." Lionel said to the army soldiers. They looked towards Emmett in confusion, who nodded towards them. The soldiers left to their assigned places.
"Now listen up everyone. The matter isn't between Humans and Tyrants anymore. Its between Humans." Lionel said.
"How do you know?" Parker asked getting up.
"You still need to ask that?" Lionel replied.
"Oh yes I forgot, sorry." Parker said.
"Basically we were framed for I don't know what cause, but the person behind this. I know him very well. You can say he rivals me." Lionel said.
"Someone who rivals Lionel?" Parker murmured to herself.
"Someone that strong?" Erik murmured in shock.
"Hence I can't risk any of your lives. So stay out of my way. (To Emmett) Especially you Emmett. Its a matter between two Shiroganes." Lionel said.
"I'm sorry Lionel, I can't let you, or anyone, go against the orders." Emmett said.
"There's no case for anyone else, and about me, I already told that I don't care about the orders. If it needs, I'll go against them again." Lionel replied.
"Sorry Emmett. I will join Lionel in this." Parker said.
"What? You too?" Emmett said.
"I said stay out of it." Lionel said.
"We both know I don't listen to you." Parker replied with a grin.
"I can't allow this." Lionel replied.
Erik raised his hand suddenly, "Mam! I want to join as well! I want to fight alongside Captain again."
"What? Are you sure Erik?" Aaron asked.
"Yes." Erik said with a confident smile on his face.
"If he's going I'll go too." Madelyn said with a straight face.
"You don't need to come Madelyn." Erik told Madelyn.
"You said that last time as well and we all know what happened, hence I'm coming." Madelyn replied.
"Ugh! Fine." Erik sighed.
"I'll come as well." Aaron said nervously.
"Count me in as well." Selena said.
"Me too." Ciaran said.
"Why you two?" Madelyn asked.
"We are partners in crime and you are my best friend, so if you go in dangerous zone Madelyn, I'll join in as well." Selena said patting Madelyn's back.
"I'll come as well." an average height girl with short dark hair that had straight bangs and straight ends, and bright eyes said nervously.
"You too Naomi?" Parker asked.
"I'll come as well." Jacob said with a low tone.
"Excuse me! To remind you all, I said no one shall join me." Lionel said.
"You're not the only one who doesn't care about orders. Understood?" Parker said. Lionel went silent.
"She made Lionel silent? Impressive." Emmett said to himself which Lionel heard and he started glaring at Emmett.
"Alright. Team assembled." Parker said.
"I can't even say do whatever you want because you all are already doing so. Whatever you do, follow my instructions when I say. Clear?" Lionel said.
Everyone replied, "Yes sir!" in unison.
"Lionel will be our Captain. Won't that make us Spec Ops? I always wanted to be a Special Operation Squad member." Parker said in excitement.
"It feels like we got promoted suddenly." Jacob said. Lionel glared at him. He went silent.
"You wanted to push your responsibilities on me right? See how I gave you a team. Now take responsibility." Parker whispered in Lionel's ears, with an evil grin. Lionel glared at her.
"I give you all fifteen minutes. Prepare yourselves. We deploy now. (To the rest of the Ops Members) You all act normal. Outside soldiers should not sense that something fishy is gone here. (To Emmett) I'm leaving as well. You deal with them." Lionel said.
"I would suggest you think again Lionel." Emmett advised Lionel.
"What I am doing is after thinking only." Lionel replied and left.
