Spotting some monsters, he activated his skill.

"Hmm, three Hobgoblins. With this, my quest will be a step closer to completion." He quietly observed their movements, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Seizing the opportunity, Zero drew his sword and swiftly attacked the Hobgoblins, defeating them in one clean sweep.

He got up and headed back to the village.
Somewhere in the forest, a giant monster flew through the trees, killing any creature that crossed its path.
Back in his room, Zero thought, "I need to rest now. Tomorrow, I have to meet Doctor Kaila. But first, I need to talk to Father about learning magic." He paused, considering, "I hope he approves of my request."
*Later That Night
Zero's father came home and saw his son preparing the dinner table. "Oh, you're here, Father. Come sit; I'll serve the food," Zero said, placing a pot of curry on the table.
After dinner, Zero explained his conversation with Doctor Kaila and his desire to learn magic. His father listened silently, then asked, "Do you want to learn magic for yourself, or is it because you want to find a cure for your mother?"
Zero was surprised but answered honestly, "Yes, I want to find a cure for Mother, but I also genuinely want to learn magic for myself. Please, Father, give me your permission."
His father went to his room without a word, leaving Zero worried that he was angry. But soon, he returned, holding a small box. "Your mother said that when you wanted to learn magic, she would give you this. Since she can't do it herself, I'm giving it to you now."
Zero took the box, curious. "What's in it?"
His father replied, "That you'll have to find out for yourself. But promise me you'll open it only when you're ready to leave the island, okay?"
Zero nodded. "Okay, Father, I promise," he said, wondering what secrets the box held.
His father prepared to leave for his night duty as a guard. "Go to sleep, Zero. I have to be on night duty."
Zero nodded and went to his room, staring at the box. Should I open it now or not? He wondered, but eventually fell asleep.
Deep in the forest, the giant monster feasted on creatures in the dark.
*The Next Morning
"Time to meet Doctor Kaila," Zero said, getting ready to go out.

In front of the island's entry office, five hunters stood, clad in armor and holding weapons. One of them said, "Okay, let's go."
"Are you sure this island has what we're looking for?" another hunter asked.
"Yes," the leader replied confidently. "The map says this island has the treasure we're searching for. Don't worry. The monsters here are weak, so there's no need to be overly cautious."
With that, they headed into Derwol Forest.
