Chapter 131 - 132 - Nuknuk

MERRENOK

Nuknuk was bored. He had long stopped counting the years as they went. The clouds had gone from the ashen of a newly birthed world to a beautiful bright one filled with white clouds and blue skies.

The lands had gone from a barren barely surviving plain to a temperate forest.

Only a few places still had mountains and dry lands. While his very continent was still sealed his roots were already stretched far beneath the earth's crusts into the seas and oceans and across the lands. As time went he watched the world take shape naturally while he placed little seeds on each continent to quicken his speed of sentience travel.

From these trees, he kept watching over the world as was his duty. He watched the earthen crust finally calm down from all its activity till only thirteen continents were left.

Smaller islands scattered along the oceans too small or too close to one another continent to be considered one themselves.

He thought of naming them but decided against it.

So he just watched.

And watched.

And watched.

Till boredom came.

Yet he endured. He toured the world through his ever-expanding roots and watched the flora grow. Finally just when he couldn't bear it anymore it activated. And his boring days came to an end.

*******

The mirage of a huge tree-like being floated next to the towering behemoth of a tree situated within the first continent of the world.

Its hands extended in a sort of prayer before a little light escaped it and into the towering tree.

A change unnoticed by non but the mirage and a few other witnesses occurred within the tree. Its leaves rustled, its roots shook and its bark grew out, even more, thicker than before.

The mirage shimmered and faded away just as the tree awoke with a jubilant cry.

"Finally".

Its words understandable only to the gods were just a rustle of leaves and branches that swayed about in glee. Its joy was reasonable since its task had begun.

°WORLD ADMINISTRATOR SYSTEM°

NAME - NUKNUK

TITLE - TAUMUNE'S FIRSTBORN

RACE - WORLD TREE

RANK - JUVENILE (SAPLING)

AFFILIATION - NUMEN ORDO

ABILITY - WORLD ADMINISTRATOR, LiFE ROOT

RULE - SOUL LINK, TREE DOMAIN, WORLD SCROLL ADMINISTRATOR, SEED PLANTER

First, he received a hoard of Seeds properly called Seeds of birth. (Chap 96). Each of these seeds was in a raw energy form. Normally the would bear the soul of each life up till birth and was what would grow and build up the body, organs, bones, and other parts of the lifeform within the mother's womb

The soul was made of the tiniest smallest unit of divinity. So tiny it wasn't even considered a part of divinity anymore and while it was a soul it was too weak to be called that.

They were called Soul Sparks the very base of life. Every being had the same amount of Soul spark at birth since there would be no partiality in regard to growing one's strength. The only thing that differed was the Seeds of birth. These pod-like things were different depending on the life to be born.

Yet since there was no mother to carry and grow the seeds then each came in raw energy forms. Having been provided with the correct amount of energy to grow out on their own.

The hoards of seeds depleted faster than anything as each of the continents received its first lifeforms.

Nuknuk watched from the various trees with his life root ability. It watched as the animals newly formed made their way about in their new world habitat.

Basic instincts and racial features took over that helped to guide these animals through various things.

Nuknuk watched for a long time his leaves changing colors and the weather on various continents coming and going.

On one such continent where Winter arrived Nuknuk realized he somehow still thrived in the blistering cold his leaves and branches unbothered.

Even watching life grow at a fast pace and what was once an empty and silent world get filled with animals, insects, and different microscopic organisms soon became bland.

Nuknuk was proud of what he considered his work but still, he was bored. That is until he received the next three batches of seeds. There was only one kind of seed in each batch The first seeds were only ten in number. While the second twenty and the third the most at fifty.

But what confused Nuknuk about these seeds were their sizes and quality. The first ten were large. Almost as big as a puppy devil wolf in the desert. Those creatures were up to four meters at birth. Once they were grown into puppies they were already seven feet. That's how big the seeds were.

The next batch was just normal seed size but it brimmed with a quality that the first seed couldn't match.

It could be said to be radiating energy.

Then there was the third. This one absorbed the energy of the world in a rush like it couldn't wait.

Unlike the first that radiated energy, this one absorbed it all.

Each of the first ten seeds was separated. One each going to one of the ten continents sparing but three of the continents. The second seeds were separated just as the first but not as systematically as the first ten. Rather each seed was randomly dropped. In the final batch, all were placed on one continent. The very continent on which the clash of two titans had occurred was raised from. One that bordered the sea which hid the ridge of the world.

The ridge where the world core was.

Under his watch this seeds all turned to what they were meant to be.

Nuknuk wouldn't dare to say that he understood what the one who gave him this seeds to plant was thinking.

He was just a gardener though, a gardener tending to another's field.

So he simply did what he did best. He waited, he listened, he watched and he frowned, if he could, at the monsters that had been born into his beautiful garden.

Yet a nagging feeling came to mind. Maybe just maybe the big boss is just as bored as I am.

For the first time in the longest period of his birth Nuknuk spoke and the world trembled.

"This will be fun".
