Chapter 31 - 31 - The gang

Howls of pure agony rent the air as Sanda watched the wolves writhe about on the floor. The glow emanating from them was nothing compared to that the Whitehopper had shown when the man in front of them touched it.

She shared a glance with her sibling and Kendoe before looking back to the very focused man who watched as the wolves writhed about in pain. A thought passed through her as she wondered how the same light that she had seen go through her bringing relief and healing her wounds brought about such screams in the creatures.

It took a few minutes and the man just stood watching his expressions change with each minute. Finally, the screams stopped didn't the facial look of the man simply looked surprised at something?

Her gaze went back to the wolves and her body moved back shuddering visibly. The wolves were gone and in their place were things that should not have existed.

Suddenly the floor beneath them parted and the wolves except for the headless one all fell to the ground before the floor normalized.

"Speak no word of this to no one" his voice echoed in their ears a stern frown on his face.

To Kendor and Humda it was quite obvious that not getting killed for whatever the dad was was enough at the moment. Whoever this being was they didn't think they stood a running let alone fighting chance with him.

Unfortunately, Sanda even with all her chills didn't feel the same. Or at least her curiosity made her forget. Her lips moved and she asked the question that made all of them even the man freeze.

Kendor gulped, Humda glared at her and even she widened her eyes realizing what she had just done. The man turned to her with a large smile on his face.

"Trust me, you don't want to know. I'd have to erase you then find another Saimtess". he spoke without hesitation.

All three gulped before the being shook his head and laughed.

"I'm joking. Those were wolves. Mutated ones" he blinked looking at them without a word as they stared back.

You do realize how awful a lie that was." Sanda asked. Humda shook his head wondering how ironic it was to die after surviving again.

"Your fight was impressive, as impressive as it could be considering the power difference." he shrugged. Then he snapped his fingers and his countenance changed.

"Your race has been dealt a grave hand" he waved his hands a stump growing from the ground on which he sat unperturbed his eyes swimming over then. Sanda felt chills just from his eyes over her the boys feeling like they had been stripped bare to show all their secrets.

"I already took care of the curse on your kind. Though subtly. Still if checked it could be noticed and when that happens there is bound to be trouble coming your way."

Kendor's eyes widened as understanding came to him. He'd been wondering how after all these years he could suddenly use these skills. Now it made sense but still, it didn't make sense. How could a man get rid of something that had plagued humans for a century and more? Sure he looked powerful and could do things.

Yet the curse was something that seemingly came from the gods themselves. To remove it he would have to be one too. Looking up. from the floor to see the grin on the man's face his eyes widened.

'Golden eyes. A confident grin. Dazzling light. Shit'

"One of you has it all figured. To the rest well I'm..." he stopped and looked up as if remembering something then sighed.

"As much as I would love to say my name, let's avoid attention eh"

"So. I already spoke with your grandfather. We reached an agreement, though I missed the hunting event my bad. But no matter I already have my finalists here. Loved your passion Kendor and you Humda lovely swordplay there. Sanda your defense was nonexistent. Which leaves me at the end of this."

He stopped and the grin left his face.

"I already have two to lead your race to new heights. Much as I would live to have this speech about grandeur and all that. I'm no normal God. At least that's what I want to think" he added a finger rubbing his jaw.

'This was a god' Humda thought furrowing his brows. He looked normal, as normal as he and Kendor. Hell, he looked younger than Kendor.

"Skip the talk. I'll offer you something special. You can decline or accept. Either way, the humans will grow, you can choose to help lead them or not." he finished.

The line appeared in all their visions making them stare. This was vastly new to them. Even amongst the elders no tales of such had been told.

" Remember it goes both ways. You need to have a bit of faith or more to use those abilities. When you do have the faith you'll become my priests and priestesses. Cool right." he asked smirkng like a proud artist.

"So we just accept?" Honda asked.

"Yes," he answered.

"No sacrifices no animal blood. " Kendor added.

"No. I'm a god not a demon"

"Gods also take those." Sanda piped.

"Indeed. You have a penchant for saying the wrong things little one"

"Just pick already the suspense is killing me."

All three looked at themselves thinking and raising eyebrows. Finally with a shrug Humda spoke.

"He saved our lives so why not, if he's a god better than demons right"Humda stated while looking at Sanda

" Your arm too" Erizos added.

"Huh."

"Just saying, I also gave you back your arm. " Erizo muttered looking like a lost child. "Just saying, you know, in case you forgot so you can state it too."

" Well. Let's do it together. " Sanda suggested while the rest looked at the god like he was weird.

"Sure."

"Sounds good."

"Nice one. Almost died together why not try accepting a random gift from an unknown god at the same time. Smart" Erizo muttered nodding his head.

Shaking his head Humda ignored the god and accepted and Sanda did to whilst Kendor hesitated watching the god thoughtfully.

'Sarcastic and laid back. Usually more dangerous than the serious ones.'

he accessed before he accepted too.

Spasms of pain wracked their bodies as Erizo watched with unhidden glee and curiosity. He had made several improvements in creating ability beads going as far as adding various sub aspects and definitions within them so he was curious to see how it would come out on this three.

For some reason, it seemed to take a while but to the three it was an endless circle of pain.
