The first to come was an ape. One arm muscular the other frail. My eyes twinkled as the mad beast stomped to me it's huge arm raised its fist tightened as it prepared to crush me to a pulp.
My legs moved without a thought, like my body knew what had to be done even before I ordered it. But it went totally as unexpected my body moving into.the ape's space instead of out as the fist descended.
My sword flashed and I appeared behind it already kicking away a little bunny with madness eyes while a headless ape dripped blood behind me.
My sword swung out behind me decapitating a funny looking huge rodent and still using the same momentum sliced another centipede in half before kicking it away.
The centipede flew back it's two parts moving in two different directions as I moved to the side slicing up the next offender. Blood spilled in the air as I cleaved though bones and flesh in all directions.
Within the midst of the frenzied creatures a certain deity stood her shield slamming away any beast getting close. While her right hand weaved up and down roots shooting out of the floor and impaling the beasts.
Roots and twigs were formed around her hand extended into a sharp spike that divided and staked any creature that persisted in getting past her shield. Atop the roofs hunters rained arrows on the creatures who got past us and tried running on the path leading to the villagers fort.
I moved from position to position while my sword slashed continuously and my eyes remained fixed on the straying beasts.
While the hunters were picking off tbe stray ones few got out and headed for the mini fort. Soon there was a huge concert at tbe fort entrance with the creatures banging and slamming themselves on the huge beam gate.
My eyes refused to leave the scene while 1 split the beasts around me into parts.
My white attire was soaked head to tow in red crimson as was my sword. The handle of my blade already slippery from all the blood on it. But still my grip remained firm all jokes and fun gone from my mind as I watched the creatures movement. There was just something quite fishy that I couldn't take my nose out of.
Finally I noticed something. One of the beasts a badger to be precise though bigger and sickly looking it was definitely a badger dug frenziedly at the ground. While watching I decapitated a wolf without looking at it. It seemed like the creature was attempting to go through the ground but why. What was so important about the fort?.
I flashed forward severing and dicing in two all the beasts in my path till I got to my destination and halted right next to Gerasmine. Grabbing the huge feline trying to push her down to the ground by the fur I flung it away.
"What's buried beneath the fort"
"Huh. Buried?" she turned to look back and I punched a beast away. But another took its place, annoyed I stomped the floor sending a huge burst through the floor that crested spikes in a semicircle impaling the beasts around and blocking off the others.
[Earth Spike]
"There's nothing beneath the fort"
"Then why are those..." I halted my question. Then looked back to her.
"Who is Mama Tay to you?" I asked. Her face scrunched up in confusion.
"She's the village chief. I've known her for as long as I've existed" she replied.
"That could mean anything. " I muttered. "The tale you told me about the sun god. Did you witness it?"
"Well no, Mama Tay said it happened..."
"Shit."
[This Is Bad. This Beasts Have Divinity In Them Alright. But Its Carefully Arranged. Some Parts Have Divine Blood While Others Lack It.]
"Wait that's..."
[Impossible If There Was An Explosion Of Divine Energy.Mutation doesn't just arrange itself.so perfectly.]
"So how..." My eyes widened as I turned to Gerasmjne then to the beasts looking at them carefully.
Their expressions, their frenzy, their rage. All fixed at the humans. Doing everything to get to the humans.
"How does the sun god die and the sun remains?"
[God's Weren't Made To Be Linked To Their Stars ]
"But their very existences should be affected by their..." I stopped again and divided the next animal.
[You Are Getting Divinity From All This Though ]
"Yeah cool" I muttered absent minded before I shot past all the beasts and into the village stopping straight at the fort. Fire erupted from my palm as mana fueled it and them descended burning all the creatures.
A ding sounded out in my head as a notification popped up.
[50 DIVINITY POINTS GAINED]
'Divine exp' I thought then looked into the fort my eyes raking the citizens who all sat bundled together in fear while the flame burned the beasts to nothing.
Punching the fort wall I ripped it off tearing the entire gate section away. The humans gasped falling back as the shuddered panic running through them.
"Erizos what are you doing. !" Gerasmine shouted from behind yet she was unable to act as the several spikes I set shattered releasing the beasts on her. The howls and roars intensified as she turned slamming her shield forward as the rush of beasts swarmed her.
Ignoring her I stepped into the fort space, twisting to tbe side my sword moved quick and gutted an ape before I continued my walk as the animal fell to the floor it's innards spilling to tbe floor while a meager amount of divine exp entered me.
[0.5 DIVINE POINTS GAINED.]
My steps echoed in my ears and that of the humans as the watched me with a fear in their eyes. I could feel a wave of divine points rushing into me as I walked through them. But it wasn't what I came for. At least not this very moment
Finally I reached and I stopped. I sighed with a smile before looking down
at the person I came for my lips moving as I spoke.
"How long Mama Tag?"j paused for a minute watching the shoulder jolt before continuing.
" A century, a millennia. How long have you deceived this poor people. No. How long have you been here sacrificing lives for your gains Mama Tag, or should I call you by your true name "
" Quizarmukae Lesser god of despair and strife. " the sky flashed with lightning and then thumder followed jt startling the spectators who were huddling around none the wiser to what was about to go down.
The old woman slowly raised her head besdy eyes that ared back at me for a while without a movement filled with pure wrath. Her face blank, the beady black eyes still as the stared at me.Her palms tightly holding her cane.
A roar sounded from the entrance and without a blink I pointed a finger and released a bolt of lightning that shattered whatever came through there.
[0.5 DIVINE POINTS GAINED.]
"I wonder, what's the real story here lesser god" I mused out loud to her hearing my ears picking up the continuous grunts and roars from outside as Gerasmine held off the beasts while I stared Mama Tay down. The air was thick with tension as both off us looked the other down fully knowing what was too happen soon enough. My grip tightened on my sword handle as I waited and watched the slumbering god decide to awake.
