The Bible says that the dead received the gospel of Jesus.  let's talk about it. 
Yet, Jesus surrendered his spirit to God the Father before he died.  how could he still preach the gospel to the dead as he would take it?

God said to Adam, if you eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, you will die the same day.  Let's know that Adam ate the fruit but he did not die as God said.  Yes Adam did not die the same day as God had said.  So where's the problem ?  Is God lying? or what does it mean: "The day you eat it, you will die, that's for sure?" 


2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, 'You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;


2:17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.'


the dead will hear the good news.
