Chapter 30 - Vengeance

In a wide open meadow, despite the dark of the night, the moon had deigned bless this one with its light, allowing anything that could to see the figure that was furiously drawing something on the ground, the figures movements were erratic, the figure never stopped despite falling to their knees multiple times due to exhaustion.

The figure was surrounded with corpses of many things, it was a tall hurdle to try and know what these corpses were as they were all piled on top of one another and already rotting away, their flesh melding on top of one another and fluids flowing on the corpses below.

The figure kept muttering incomprehensible sentences as they kept on completing their task, after a while and many instances where it had seem the figure had dropped dead on the spot, their objective was complete, the anger had not been quelched at all but it was momentarily overpowered by pure madness and glee as the figure laughed and laughed to no ends.

They had expended so much energy toward this that their own laugh was knocking them over but it didn't matter much as the figure raised their arms toward the sky, calling for someone or rather something.

All of the corpses were consumed as they disappeared, transforming into something else, the thing the figure had been drawing with utmost passion was lighting up with a purple light, the grass and other things filled with life apart from the figure were sucked out of their life force and mana, killing a large number of things in the process.

The space seemed to crack as a portal appeared above the drawing from which a creature appeared, landing in the middle of the drawing and right in front of the figure, the creature was tall and seemed to be thin but such assumptions weren't certain as the creature was garbed in a robe.

The creature was humanoid in shape and had no facial features at all, its fingers were armed with dangerous looking claws, upon a closer look one could notice that the robe was but made of the monster's own extended skin.

"Creature! I summoned you to bring down the hammer of justice for me!" yelled the figure with intensity.

The monster did not respond but seemed to be listening as it cracked its fingers and took a few looks around, seemingly looking at things despite its lack of ocular vision.

"I wish of you to massacre the people of the republic we are in!" spoke out the figure.

The figure was just about to continue shouting out its words with utter madness as the some other people showed up, their advance not covered by any foliage as it had all died.

The figure turned its neck at a dangerous speed and seemed pissed for a few moments before looking at the monster they had summoned again and smiling with a child-like demeanor.

"Start with them!" they demanded as they pointed at the group that had showed up, the action failed as the figure couldn't even hold their arm up anymore.

The monster stayed silent and the group was also silent, eyeing the monster with caution, unlike the figure who was too absorbed in its delusions, they had noticed how dangerous it was from the get go.

The one that was first to act was the monster, it raised one of its hands, pointing one of its finger toward the sky, causing the still lighted up drawing to vanish or rather to break, it took a step forward and pointing its right palm to the figure's face causing them to splatter on the ground as if they didn't have any bones.

A small portal appeared beside the monster, it sticked one of its claws inside of it and every single member of the group fell to the ground, no visible injuries could be seen at all but they were all dead.

The mana present in each of their bodies drifted toward the creature which absorbed it all without any issue, it then licked the blood off the claw it had sticked into the portal with a tongue that suddenly sticked out from beneath the hood of its robe.

The creature disappeared from its position in the blink of an eye, appearing in beautiful room with long table in the center of it, each seat had the name of a position written on its back, except for a few, like the one at the far end of the table, on which was written 'consul'.

The monster stood behind the chair and waited until the sun rose, it turned invisble, meaning that when all of the owners of these seats came in for their meeting, none noticed the presence of the creature, even the bodyguards present in each corner of the room didn't notice a thing.

The monster surprisingly took the decision of simply showing itself, cancelling its spell, all eyes turned to its tall figure, exactly the thing that shouldn't be done, all of them ended up also looking at the strange circles it had conjured.

All of their eyes lost their glints and the voices that were about to yell out were silenced by none other than their own owners, the monster didn't do anything noticeable but each of them stood up from their seats and the glints returned to their eyes, albeit these glints were off.

They all walked out and the more people met their eyes, the more people lost their glints, all that had lost it didn't pay any mind to the monster.

After a few days, all people of importance had been inflicted with this spell of high proportions, the affliction was passed on to military officials and crawled down the chain of command until the great majority of the military was afflicted with it.

Once this was done, the monster simply clapped its hands, prompting all of these people to start waging war against the other countries, spreading their affliction further and further, once enough people had been caught into it to the monster's standards, it clapped its hands again, making all of the afflicted kill themselves, the biggest act of mass suicide, if one could call it suicide.

The ones that had avoided or had been able to resist were taken out by the monster itself or died after the world suddenly underwent a mass drop in its population, the mountains of corpses spread diseases, crops weren't tended to as much as in the past and societies had pretty much stopped functioning

It wasn't long until this one had accomplished its mission just like the other, its circumstances weren't as different as it could seem, it was all but an happy coincidence.

With the use of a single of its spells, this venerer had caused a great deal of death, an achievement that wasn't to be taken soon as venerers weren't big magic users in general.
