There are different levels to magic potency and quality, every being or species has a hard cap but is capable of being broken due to extenuating circumstances. For example a human getting a contract with a different race, and acquiring their magic for themselves.

The most basic access to magic is mana it is the most watered down and digestible energy there is. Here are the different sources magic. A being is also ranked via tiers

Origin- only one race has this authority and that is elementals

Humans are only able to access lower tier essence, due to being weak, they may get higher magic through other means but they also have a power limit, which could also be bypassed via the same methods

Awakened-equal to new werewolf or vampires

High- equal to adult vampires or werewolf

Arch- equal to a older and seasoned vampire werewolf

Transcendent- equal to a local master or alpha
