"Brother, do we really have to do this?" Kyle felt troubled and asked his brother.
"I instructed the guards," His brother answered simply.
The two of them are in the female washroom, but it is not only this fact that makes him want to rub the back of his neck.
'He's crazy.'
"Why do we need to corner her like this? And what if David learned about this? He will get mad!" Somehow, Kyle can imagine his little brother looking at them with cold eyes.
"This will not happen if you're not stupid. It's all your fault."
This made him upset. "Why is it my fault?!"
Knoxx faced his stupid brother. He really can't understand how EQ can drop significantly when facing women.
"I can't believe you got tricked by a girl. If you didn't ask that stupid question and let me handle the talk, it wouldn't end like this."
"You just have to interfere and ruin my plan to probe."
"Listen, you got led on. Every word that she said is a trap. I'm still carefully choosing my words when you just have to open your damn mouth." Knoxx mocked him without a pause.
"What do you mean? Are you saying that she purposely led me to ask that question?"
"What do you think? Didn't the conversation end because of that? Who knows if what all she said is true." Knoxx sneered at him.
Kyle is stunned. He remembered the previous conversation.
"What about your parents?
"Parents? They were already dead."
"I'm an orphan."
"It's fine. I heard that they're dead since I'm still a baby, so it's not like I have met them once."
He realized that the conversation really ended just like that. With a few sentences, the atmosphere turned heavy and no one had the nerve to ask anymore.
'But who would use something like that as an excuse? If that's true, then that's too... cold-hearted.' Kyle shook his head.
"You can't say that. What if it's really true?"
"Whether it's true or not, it doesn't change the fact that she's suspicious."
Knoxx said with a grave expression before looking straight at the corridor. She stood there. With her hands in her pockets, she strode toward them in a relaxed manner.
"Who are you?" Knoxx didn't beat around the bush and directly confronted her.
"Didn't you already run a background check on me? It is what it is."
"Do you think I'll buy that? I can't find anything about your past. It's like you suddenly popped out of nowhere,"
"Tell me. Where do you come from?"
'Who the heck are you?' While Knoxx was abroad, the girl appeared out of the blue and caught his youngest brother's attention. Since then, her name has continued to bug his mind.
"Hey, be gentle with her, won't you?" Kyle whispered. His brother has a threatening stance. Coupled with the place, he felt like they were bullying and harassing a girl.
"Shut up." Knoxx glared at him. Kyle immediately shut his mouth and felt spiteful. Knoxx didn't bother about him anymore and stared at the person in front of him. He put on a forceful air that made people scared of him, but she didn't even seem fazed. She's still collected. If he were to describe her, she was a lithe woman who stood very still with a certain elegance.
'It won't work. He decided to change his approach.'
"Miss, you better answer me. I can't let something dangerous stick to my little brother."
Dani looked at him. He stepped back a little and tried to wear a different face. She also understands him. Why he is acting like this, she understands where he's coming from, so she can put up with him and be restrained. Although he tried to play a dirty trick on her, trying to expose something she doesn't want to be known, and indirectly putting her under surveillance, she can still be patient with him.
"I... I understand you" The girl opened her mouth, but unexpected words came out.
'What kind of trick is this now?' Knoxx furrowed his brows.
"I understand you, but that doesn't mean I am obligated to answer your questions. So you should also understand."
They are speechless by her words.
'Then, which part of it do you understand?'
She continued her words. "And it's not really a danger. Did you hear the saying 'Let sleeping dogs lie?' But if you tried to provoke the dogs... Then, something bad might really happen."
Knoxx can get the gist of what she's saying.
"Are you threatening us?!"
Kyle roared and took a step towards her. He couldn't believe his ears. In his whole life, no one threatened them directly. His impression of her turned one hundred-eighty degrees in an instant.
"What is threatening about that? I'm saying that if you ignore it, then nothing will happen. It's not a warning, it's an advice."
Kyle scoffed. 'Isn't she blabbering about provoking a dog... something like that... dogshit!'
"Earlier, aren't you saying otherwise?"
"The meaning is still the same."
Kyle is stupefied by her shamelessness.
'It won't do. We are being played by her words.' Knoxx glared at his brother, threatening him to shut his mouth again.
"If you won't talk, then let me take a guess? Hmm?" He didn't wait for her words and began to speak.
"I wonder why I can't find anything about your past? Your records only started more than 2 years ago and I found out that it was exactly the time you appeared here. So pardon me for being caught up where you came from. It's really fascinating." He circled around Dani, trying to intimidate the latter.
"And what's more? No parents, no guardian? Not related to anyone. It's like you were cut off from who knows where."
Knoxx paused and observed her reaction. All records about her only show her activities these past two years.
"So I can think of only two possible reasons. Either someone concealed your identity or it might be a fake identity in the first place."
Dani opened her lips to reply but he cut her off.
"I don't care which one is correct. I only want to know why. I told you. I don't want my brother to be caught up in a possible danger. So could you please enlighten me? I will decide my next step and see if I have to get rid of you by his side."
The silence was suffocating until she suddenly laughed out loud. The two were appalled by her appearance.
"Hahahaha"
