Chapter 19 - Part 19

It's been almost three months and now spring break has started. I will go to Hope Peak and the girls will go to one of the nearby high schools and Tengan-san came again to tell us that everything is ready and he will come in 5 days to show us the new place to live and also help us with moving after that, also he is the one to take the girls to their new schools to show them everything and I will go with Kirigiri-san to school to discuss some formalities.

Also, I can congratulate myself I managed to get up my first hundred characteristics, so I had a smile on my face all day long, so I was probably more pleasant person than usual I always look cold, which is logical thinking ------ and made a small party in honor of that and baked a cake. Although she did not know what made me happy, well, I hope so, but she was still sincerely happy for me, still I do not often go happy, or rather do not show it.

Another happy moment associated with this was the fact that my theory was confirmed for my 100 personal characteristics I got some nice skills and what I pumped the most compared to the others was exactly the intellect, which logically gave me the skills associated with it.

[Weak memory enhancement]

[Passive Skill].

[Your memory has gotten a little better than many people's, things are stored in your head much longer, and skills are learned 20% faster. The chance of forgetting something is reduced].

[Extra stream of consciousness]

[Passive skill]

[You can think twice as fast as a normal person and still do several times as much stuff.]

I wouldn't say anything has changed much. Maybe it's because the skill for characteristics just displays my progress in that branch and maybe only gives me a little bonus from myself. So because of this I can't feel the progress as it accumulates with me gradually, or maybe it's all because of [Gamer's Mind] and the fact that it's only the initial skills that only gave for the average increase in characteristics. Still, I can't say that it didn't do anything, the skills did start learning a lot faster, and I remember everything that happened in the last month in detail.

At this point I can no longer be considered hospital staff, well, in principle, as before, but this time and morally, there was even a party to see me off. Also, I finished with all my patients who were under my wing, so I left with a clear conscience, of course, there were many objections to my leaving, but I do not think that their opinion was important to me. We also said a very warm goodbye to Mori-san and had a little house party. And right now, I purely had Ultimately no idea what to do.

I don't have to go to work anymore, school isn't until next week, I have no desire to improve my skills at the moment, and for most of them I need equipment and have Ultimately no desire to get anything new. And even if I started, I still had no enthusiasm. I even drove to the restaurant with my driver to say goodbye to him. So now ------ and I were watching a romance show on TV and the stupid story that was going on made tears come out of her eyes, which she wiped with a handkerchief that she held in her fists. Mukuro was much smarter than me and was able to leave early, so she didn't have to put up with it.

And then in the last minutes of this bloody melodrama there was the sound of the door opening, which is a consequence of Mukuro finally coming home and from what I could hear she was much more active than usual now, so as soon as she closed the door and kicked her sneakers off in different directions, she ran straight to us. For the first time in a long time my intuition started screaming for something bad again.

"Look what I found in the mailbox." - she began at once, pointing to the three pieces of paper in her hands. "These are plane tickets that include a four-day tour of Europe."

"Who are they from?" - there was a sound of suspicion in my voice.

"The letter said it was a gift to you Yasuke." - Mukuro said with some strange tension.

"That's weird, I don't think anyone told me that. Who's it from? Let me see it." - I said, holding out my hand to her.

"Oh, for joy I accidentally threw it away." - she said while putting her hand on the back of her head for embarrassment.

"Hmm." - I hummed. "I have a bad feeling about this. So, you'd better not. If that's the way you want to go, we can go somewhere after graduation or next vacation."

"But Yasuke!" - Said Mukuro grudgingly, which doesn't sound like her. "The tickets are for tomorrow, and yeah it'll be good for us all to get relax. Who knows when we'll get a proper vacation next time? Besides, you'll probably have a lot to do; it's the first time in years you've had it this good."

"No." - I said seriously my final decision.

But I don't think my decision ever means anything in this house, and those decisions that don't involve me, my own opinion I can defend, but the general one. And right now, I looked at ------ as a sign of support, but all I saw was her sparkling gaze, which was directed at the tickets. When she saw with her side-eye what I had turned toward her, she slowly turned her head in my direction, and then opened her eyes to the maximum added diminution in them while making the cutest smile she could make.

"Well, Yasuke..." - she stretched out.

"No." - I said again, but to my regret, not so confidently anymore.

"Well, Yasuke..." - she stretched out again. "But Mukuro is right. You don't have much time, well, it will be nice for us to relax. Besides, it's Europe! We'll be able to buy lots of things and see interesting places there. I've never been outside of Japan and I don't know how people live in other countries. Besides, Mukuro said we'd have a four-day trip, so we'll be back right before Tengan-san arrives!"

"I don't know." - I said, already quite unsure. "I really don't think this is a good idea. It all seems too suspicious."

"Please!" - she stretched out the last word. "Please, let's go! Please, let's go! Please, let's go! Please, let's go!"

She started repeating it incessantly, and at that moment I realized that there was no way I could refuse it. She had already decided everything for herself, and especially now there is nothing that should be dangerous, although it seems to me after that time she should listen to my feelings. While it's strange that ------ is so hot for the idea and she really wanted to see another country, but Mukuro clearly had some plans for it.

"Haaaaah." - I exhaled an air. "Okay pack your bags."

"YES!" - yelled ------ and pounced on me for a hug. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

After that, she let go of me and started running toward her room while still yelling "Thank you." There was a relaxed smile of happiness on Mukuro face, but there was also a strange determination in her eyes. This would not end well.

The next morning, we ordered a cab, which took us to the airport. I had an ordinary bag, in which only the most necessary things fit, according to the public opinion, of course all the most important things and a little bit forbidden were in my inventory and it seems that the metal detector should not feel the things in the inventory, and the watch can be safely removed.

But, of course, it was not without problems and a significant problem was oddly enough ------, which took with them as many as four suitcases! I don't know what was in there, but according to her, it was just the essentials. Which meant that she took a couple of sets of different clothes for every occasion, and I'm pretty sure she also took a couple of sets for me, and for different occasions, too. So now I had to carry a bag and four suitcases on me, which and my age made it look a little comical. And it was a good thing that Mukuro things were packed in the same bag, which was a little thicker than mine, so I didn't have to take things from her.

After going through all the checks, which were difficult because of our ages, but in this world, it was much easier, so the staff did not call security or anything and after putting all the things in storage we began to wait for the boarding notification which did not take that long and in about an hour we were sitting together on the plane and waiting for it to take off. Fortunately, our seats were next to each other and, luckily, the side seat was by the window by which we sat ------- and she was incredibly interested and watched the plane take off without taking her eyes off that now, as for the whole trip. Well, she was very happy and the smile never left her face.

After landing at the airport, we got our things and took the nearest cab, and then drove to the specified address, where our hotel was supposed to be. And, to my surprise, everything was going well, even the hotel was okay, the tickets were not fake, I did not feel a strange presence or surveillance. And that was what confused me the most, if it was going well, then it was going badly. A strange contradiction that I've been able to grasp in this lifetime.

When we got to the hotel, I should note a very nice hotel, to my surprise there were even rooms reserved in our names. I also didn't notice any other people checking in, which meant either that other people had been put in other hotels, or this whole excursion was set up just for us. Again, by my strangely fortunate coincidence, ------- and I were in the same room with two separate beds, but Mukuro got a private room on another floor. I, of course, wanted and even offered to live alone in a separate room when the girls could live together, but strangely enough both stumbled on the fact that ------ and I had to sleep in the same room. If ------ at least makes sense to me, then why Mukuro would agree to this is confusing to me, normally she would want to be next to ------, but now she even agrees to a different floor.

------ and I got a decent room with two soft beds, I have to say I've never slept on anything like this before. It also had a padded carpet and a large TV. There were also several separate rooms which included a small kitchen and a bathroom with toilet. So, it was quite comfortable to live in, but our apartment in Japan was bigger, or would you say a former apartment? Yes, when I returned to Japan, I could say I would start a new life, and a little touch the place of the main plot. With these thoughts in mind, I went to bed.

(Skip time until morning.)

The first thing I saw was strangely enough not the hair ------ as it was usual, no of course they were too, but now in front of my face there was a pop-up window from the system, which I did not immediately start reading.

[Temporary bonus received!]

[Good rest.]

[Bonus:

All skill improvements are 10% faster.

Stamina and health regeneration increased by 5%.]

[Time remaining: 8:59:37]

[Good Rest] gets a bonus from sleeping with your favorite 1x:

All skill improvement is 15% faster.

Stamina and health regeneration is increased by 10%.

15% time bonus]

I see. I certainly suspected that I might have something similar to this, but I didn't have the space to check it out, I wasn't sleeping on the best bed at first, and for the past few years I've been sleeping on the couch altogether, so it was nice to know that I could increase my skill pump speed a little more. Of course, that bonus to the bonus is a little confusing because of its wording, but I think that's okay and partly true, but here's this [1x]. Is the system so subtly suggesting that if more people sleep with me, I'll get an even bigger bonus... No system, you're not going to make me fall to the dark side... although maybe a little... No.

Again, of course, firmly deciding my choice about the harem and getting all the hair ------ out of my face and spilling out of her embrace I was able to stand up. After which I again covered ------ with the blanket she had managed to throw off during the night I headed towards the bathroom to depict the process of morning hygiene. On the way I noticed the clock that said it was about an hour until breakfast, so for now I could sit and look something up on my laptop, it was interesting to know how fast the first few levels would go up.

Which I did, in principle. Running a video on my laptop about playing the guitar, I began to watch it. And, to my surprise, it was really very fast, in that half an hour I was able to easily raise as many as 7 levels of skill. I don't know why, but I always wanted to learn to play some kind of musical instrument, preferably the guitar of course, it was just cool, just cool. So when we come back we need to buy a regular guitar for our new house.

After waking up ------ I watched as she began to slowly wake up and rubbed her eyes.

"Good morning Yasuke." - she muttered to herself as she tried to fix her hair somehow.

"Good morning." - I said, while fixing her hair for her. "We've got half an hour before breakfast arrives, so wake up."

"Uh-huh." - she also half-sleepily said and with shuffling steps headed toward the bathroom.

Also, about an hour after breakfast, we have to go to the meeting place with the tour guide. So let's eat quickly and head outside and look for a cab. When ------ came out of the bathroom and breakfast was already on the table waiting just for her. After quickly throwing breakfast in our stomachs, we were about to head out and all that was left was to go get Mukuro. Before we left, I cast a glance at ------. Her hair was in two ponytails that were fixed with two pins that I had given her, she was wearing a light-yellow dress that she was going out in, and she was wearing black heels that went with the same color belt.

Here was where the problems arose, which did not go with the plans. When we got to Mukuro room, she was lying on the bed saying she had a stomach ache. After describing the pain, I gave her some light pills that she wasn't supposed to be allergic to and her stomach was supposed to go away in an hour. To our words about staying with her and waiting until she was better, she horned in that "we had to go" and "not to change plans because of her." After a little argument we decided to leave Mukuro alone and go to the right place, of course leaving the phone for her to call us if anything happened to her or if her condition worsened.

So in a restless mood we left the hotel and took the nearest cab. And despite Mukuro accident, then we were able to get there fairly quickly and there were about twenty minutes left before the meeting started. And with each passing minute my intuition was screaming that something bad was going on and if we were okay, it was Mukuro who was too lucky to have a stomach ache that was confusing me. But now I just had to wait and hope for the best.

After an hour, even ------ realized that something bad was going on here by the look in her tense eyes. We even checked the address again and tried to call the number on the brochure, but logically it didn't answer and what's most disgusting, Mukuro didn't answer either. So, ordering a cab again and asking to go as fast as possible we headed back to the hotel.

Running up to Mukuro floor and practically kicking in the door we burst into the room only to find that Mukuro room was empty, or rather without her, on first inspection you could see that all the things she came with were still here in the room and hadn't even moved anywhere from where they were. Even the phone that I had put on the nightstand was in the same place. Looking around the room again for any kind of note or clue and not finding anything I felt cold inside, and my face ------ showed incomprehension and fear, so I went over to her and hugged her in order to somehow calm her down, we went to our room. If Mukuro wasn't back by tomorrow morning, we'd have to go to the hotel administration to find out what happened to her and where she was. I don't think there was any point in talking about it now, especially after we broke up two hours ago. The only thing we could have hoped for was that she herself had just gone out for a walk.

After spending all day until the evening on my nerves, ------ finally managed to fall asleep and that only in my arms, but even through sleep you could see the worry on her face. Perhaps, of course, she was hoping for the best, but I already understood perfectly well what had happened. As far as I remember, Mukuro disappeared when she was a kid, or rather she was taken in by a cool mercenary organization, and just before high school she was supposed to return and take part in a death game. And most likely this moment was now, after all the tickets that come out of nowhere must be embarrassing, and all this strange behavior of Mukuro. It is more likely that she was deciding to leave.

And I don't know how that could be explained. Okay in this reality there's me, but in the canon story. When your only sister, who is your closest friend, just disappears, it must have been quite a blow to a little girl who thought she was better off dead and no one wanted her, and when she found out that Mukuro just left ------ alone to fend for herself without saying anything. I don't know what Mukuro was thinking at that moment, but I do know about ------, and it probably just might have confirmed her wish to plunge the world into "Ultimate Despair". Shit even I felt abandoned, how the fuck could she abandon both of us. Okay she would have warned me, but without saying a word and just leaving, it feels nasty. But I guess I'll get a chance to ask her about it, and I also hope that my presence might affect the plot and her wishes. With those unpleasant thoughts in mind, I decided to go to sleep.

(From the author: the Wiki says that Mukuro disappeared on a trip to Europe with her parents. It also says that they were homeless with Junko. And I just can't imagine what kind of twist of fate it must have been for them to go from homeless to other countries. The only thing I could assume was that "Fenrir" himself sent them tickets to take Mukuro. It was also shown throughout the anime that Mukuro loves Junko too much and it was hard to imagine that she would leave Junko of her own volition, and also nowhere did it say that Mukuro left on Junko's orders, since her Ultimate Despair plan only started to take hold at the academy, this was also shown in the anime. So, without explanation and so far by canon.

P.S. Her free time event explained it. Well, I hope that's exactly what she said and not from Junko side).

To my surprise, I wasn't the first to wake up, but ------ first woke up before me and was now just looking out the window, also most likely aware of the whole situation. Despite her seemingly simple nature, she was monstrously smart and could also put all the weirdness into one thing, and at my mute glance she only shook her head in denial. Which meant that she had already gone to her room and found none.

So of course, after that we went to the receptionist to look at the security cameras. He, of course, at first tried to resist, but that I that ------ were persuasive. And what is logical we found nothing, I mean literally nothing, no one came in, no one went out after us. It was just as if it was missing. When the administrator went up to the room and made sure of it, even he realized that the case smells bad and had called the police himself.

Three days later, just before flying back to Japan, the official conclusion was that Mukuro had been kidnapped. Even though we and they all knew it was a load of crap, we had to write at least something. Which, of course, is logical because of all this not me not ------ not even thinking about going anywhere. She obviously took it hard, practically all of these four days she was sitting at the window and looking through it, while still eating sweets, sometimes there were tears in her eyes. I, of course, was always by her side and didn't go anywhere.

About this mood we returned to Japan, we were allowed to pack all of Mukuro things so I had two bags on my back. After arriving at the house and putting Mukuro stuff on the bed, I saw ------ go into her room, she had a look of sadness on her face again. But I think that right now she needs to be alone with herself to think things through.

I myself went to the kitchen to think about what would happen tomorrow. What will I have to tell Tengan-san, there will also be problems with the school, and it would be desirable to arrange a move tomorrow as well. All right, problems have to be solved as they arise, so I can go to bed in peace. But even though my thoughts on the subject were complete, I never fell asleep, and neither did ------, who came up to me in the night and sat down next to me while covering us both with a blanket and making us both tea.

And all of this led to the logical result that when Tengan-san came over, ------ had slimy eyes and was practically falling asleep on the go, but decided to come with us anyway. She also seemed to feel a little better since she was smiling a little bit again. After asking Tengan-san about Mukuro, I had to explain everything and tell him the official version of her disappearance.

He of course tried to be supportive and reassuring, but he knew that his words wouldn't do much, not even taking into account that he was a stranger to both of us, and that he just didn't know what to say and also knew that the only people who could help each other were both of us, that was clear from the look he threw at us. He also tried to reassure us about the future by saying that he would talk to the school about Mukuro disappearance and even though the house they'd picked up would be big for the two of us, it would still be my personal responsibility.

After calming down a bit and giving Tengan-san some tea, we finally headed out in his car to our new home. The trip to it took quite a long time, about two hours, which was basically understandable. Hope Peak was in the center of the city, and our apartment was somewhere on the outskirts. Well of course and we didn't drive to the academy itself, and as Tengan-san said, it would take about twenty minutes to walk to the academy, about that much for the girls to walk.... ------.

And so his car stopped and we pulled over. After getting out of the car first and quickly running over to the other side to open the door ------ and help her out, I finally turned around and looked at our new home. .... Are they serious? It was a healthy and still I might even add large two-story house in bright white. Its condition was in the best quality and you couldn't find a single flaw, I certainly couldn't normalize how big the house was, but it was definitely above average. That's if you don't count the basement and the attic, which also added to the size... And then there was the garage, which I won't be needing for a while, if I do. There were also several porches on the front of the house.

Another incredible thing was what was in front of the house, namely a large green and beautiful lawn that was trimmed to the line, on which you could do anything, even have a picnic or even play American soccer, such a well-maintained lawn I had not even seen the Kuzuryu family, and they invested a lot in the house, especially in the appearance. The most incredible thing was not even that, but what towered over the roof of this house, namely several giant trees and all this I could see only after walking through the two-meter fence.

As I slowly entered the grounds, I was once again amazed at the size of this house; rich people usually lived in such houses. But even behind all this, I did not stop watching the reaction ------, who looked around with her mouth open, and in her ------- eyes, in which there were no drawings, were literally replaced by stars, which looked in all directions with disbelief. Yeah, a private home was probably something incredible for her and something she could only dream about, well, so could I, but at least I had an idea of how it all worked out.

"Do you like it?" - Tengan-san said with a smile in his voice. "We picked up the best house that was around. Both of your schools are about a half-hour walk away. There are also a lot of stores and malls nearby. There's practically a hospital nearby, just in case, but I don't think you'll need it with Yasuke-kun."

"Yup." - not understanding and most of the words confirmed ------.

"..." - Tengan-san only smiled, looking at ------. " Well, I think you'll both be interested to hear not about the area around the house, but about what's in and around the house itself. The lawn will be taken care of by people who will come here twice a week, there's also a little park behind the house with a gazebo, there's also a pool."

"A pool?!?!?!?!" - interrupted him -----.

"Yes." - Tengan-san confirmed.

"Oooooh!!!" - she cheered, even though I knew for a fact that she couldn't swim. But that didn't stop her from jumping on the spot with happiness.

I didn't really care about that, of course. I was just glad she was finally smiling again.

"Okay, let's get on with it. Ahem." - Tengan-san cleared his throat. "The house is already fully furnished with all the necessities of the latest technology and only the highest quality equipment and appliances. Also, the house is built with the latest technology, so it won't be cold in winter and hot in summer. There is also good soundproofing. Also roughly speaking in the house, there are four floors, which includes the attic, which has nothing remarkable and the basement, which is arranged in a gym and a small laundry room. There's also a total of seven guest rooms, three baths, one office and one living room, which is on the first floor."

"Unbelievable." - I couldn't help myself anymore.

It was even more than I could have dreamed of, especially since it was too much for two people, but I guess that's not really a problem. But looking at it all, I had a worm of doubt in my heart. It can't be that simple. I just cannot imagine that they just made concessions for me, but I think that so far there is nothing to do and just go with the flow, and then deal with problems as they arise.

With these thoughts I tried to take a step toward the door, but suddenly there was a hand on my shoulder. I didn't have to think about whose hand it was, because there was only one person standing next to me, and that was Tengan-san. And after I turned around, my confirmation was true, and it was his hand on my shoulder. Looking at him questioningly, I waited for an explanation.

"I guess you can't open the door without this." - he said and put his hand into his pocket and digging in it he pulled out a bunch of keys and handed them to me. "Here. You need the keys to open the door, don't you? Oh, that's right! I've been asked to tell you that there's a chance for you to have this house to yourself. I really don't know all the conditions, but still."

"Thank you, Tengan-san." - I told him gratefully.

Though my voice sounded kind, my thoughts were quite the opposite. Not to Tengan-san, but to the fact that all of this is clearly not a bad bribe, and Tengan-san, on the contrary, wants to help me not to fall into this trap. He probably let it slip a few times on purpose that this house was recently built, even though it was obvious. Talking about how if I wagged my tail well, I might get a bone. Well, in principle, I'm not particularly proud, and if I don't have to wag my tail too much and actively, I can get a bone for myself.

With these thoughts I walked slowly to the door. Unobtrusively I was approached from the side by ------, who slowly followed me. So you can say that we came to the door together, and then I inserted the key and pulled the handle to open the door. After that a large space appeared before my eyes, which just screamed for its richness.

Having walked a little bit inward, listening to ahs of astonishment from ------, we went to the living room. As we did so, I tucked the keys into my pocket, calling them into my inventory, of course. And here even I was dumbfounded. Except for the sheer size of the living room, which would have accommodated my last house, that each floor was about four meters, a huge leather couch, a silk carpet, and an enormous stereo system. Then at the very center of the wall, right between two crystal-clear huge windows, stood an enormous television set that was as big as a soccer goal, and I'm pretty sure it cost about two million dollars alone. After that, it was scary to imagine the true amount of money that had been invested in that house. It was now clear to me why they didn't have enough money for the Izuru project...

My gaze caught on ------ who slowly walked over to the TV and dropped to her knees next to it, and then spread her arms apart trying to hug it or pray to it. Well, it looked funny, as Tengan-san light laughter confirmed. But yeah, I agree with her, that TV was really incredible, especially to show the full value of the house. I guess there was no point in looking at the house any further, and it would have been too silly to think about refusing. Not only would this place like ------, it would also speed up my development in improving my skills.

Still impressed, we walked between several rooms to the stairs that led to the second floor. And began to climb it, to be honest, I would not be surprised if there was an escalator in this staircase. But when I got to the second floor I looked around. There were several doors and the same silk carpet that lay in the middle of the aisle. I also noticed a staircase, which was probably supposed to lead up to the attic, but as I had been told, there was nothing of interest there. So, I went down the corridor going through each room. And I have to give credit, every room was top class, well the size of course was also incredible, also they were arranged already with all the necessary things, of course there were no small details, but still.

The door that caught my eye the most was the one at the end of the corridor; it stood out from the others because it was a little more massive than the others, so it was definitely not an ordinary room. But from Tengan-san description, I could tell that it was the only remaining room that I still hadn't seen, namely the study. So of course, opening it up presented me with a rather beautiful study, with the panoramic window that stood out the most, offering a beautiful view of the city, and the city at night would be even prettier. And hell, that chair looked pretty darn comfortable. So, it was.

Slowly closing the door, I looked back for a look at my companions. After my gaze ------ who was bouncing around in one place calmed down and looked at me with excitement, well I looked at her. After that I raised my hand and pointed my finger at the nearest living room, which was a few feet away from the study.

"This is my room." - I said simply.

"..." - They were both silent because they needed to understand my words.

"Hooraaaaaaaah." - The first one to understand my words was ------ and started screaming for joy while throwing herself around my neck, which made us spin in place. "We're moving in! Then I'm scooping up the next room next door!"

She said and pointed to the next room from the one I pointed to. I certainly wasn't going to tell her that it was just the two of us, after all, she seemed to have just gotten better. To all this, Tengan-san only smiled at our relationship.

"It's good that you agree." - Tengan-san said quietly to us. "Then if you don't mind, I'll call Kirigiri-san now and he'll come here to pick you up Yasuke-kun, and in the meantime ------ and I will go to her new school and then we'll go to your old house to start the move, and you can come back here and wait for us."

"Okay." - I said, since it really was a good idea, and I also think that Tengan-san can be relied upon.

"Yes." ------- agreed.

After that, I went downstairs with them to see them off. As they were about to leave, ------ came up to me and kissed me on the cheek as a sign of goodbye, which made Tengan-san, once again smile, as well as me in principle. When they left I went back to the house to wait for Kirigiri-san, while of course checking the whole house for cameras or other tracking devices is worthwhile, I think I have time.
