Outside the awakening ground, when Toki and Dean arrived, about 20 other kids stood waiting. These children were the other children from normal families that had reached their 14 years and were also going to take part in this time's awakening ceremony. Now all that was missing was the children from the 3 tribe clans along with the tribe chief who would hold the ceremony. Toki didn't really care about the rulers of the tribe but he still knew to some extent about them. The tribe was really just a tight knit community of many families that lived in the same area. The only real exceptions were the orphanage and the 3 tribe clans. The orphanage was where children like Toki and Dean lived. They were children with no family that could care for them and thus were taken care of by the tribe as a whole. And then there were the 3 clans. They were sort of like an exception to the normal families as for some odd reason almost all members of their families awakened the same affinity, also known as their signature mystic affinities. Thus they amassed more power due to their knowledge about affinities surpassed the amount that a normal person could learn in their lifetime. This was because they could teach their young how to improve their mystic powers whereas normally individuals had to figure it out themselves.
After a bit more time passed finally the clans arrived. During this ceremony only a single child from each family would be awakening. From the steady clan was robby. He was unusually tall for his age with his very and built body. He had his family's signature brown hair and eyes with a somewhat rigid expression. Together with him was what seemed like his grandfather or some other elder from the steady clan, as he definitely looked the part with his tall muscular appearance despite his age. From the frost clan was Isak, he was on the smaller side with a handsome face with blond hair and blue eyes. He arrived alone but Toki knew some of his family was definitely watching. He probably just thought it was embarrassing being accompanied by them. Finally was the burning clans sarah. She was the tribe head's daughter and thus arrived with him and her mother. She had black hair and black eyes but all the people knew that they would probably turn red as it happened with every member of the burning tribe during their awakening.
As everyone had arrived the clan head started speaking: "Today is the day when all of you will experience the awakening ceremony. To awaken you must all go into the awakening ground. When you are inside you will see a bunch of crystals that are stuck to the walls and these crystals will tell you about your affinity. All you have to do is close your eyes and feel which you speak the most to you. After that touch the crystal that speaks to you and your awakening will be complete after gaining its blessing."
After explaining the process to all the children the clan chief sized up all the children, ready for their awakening. This time we have a child from each of the great clans as such we are expecting great things from them. Aside from them with over 20 new awakened we will gain more hunters in a few years meaning our clans power will be greater and exploring more of the forest will be possible. Then there is the granddaughter of the healer. I'm hoping she also gains the healing affiniti as her son didn't. Finally we have the two oddballs from the orphanage, the shaman said that they are likely to get some more obscure affinity as personality can have a big effect on it. The shaman asked me to monitor them in case the affinity has an extreme effect on their personality.
After finishing sizing up the candidates the clan head started leading the children to the awakening ground through the huge cave entrance in the mountain. as the group walked in toki started feeling something weird in his surroundings. He looked around and couldn't find anything but it seemed he wasn't the only one experiencing this as Dean, the clan children and one girl he didn't recognize all also reacted the same way he did. At that the clan head gave a snort to signal that they should just follow without causing a commotion but toki felt that he seemed somewhat happy after some of them reacted to the weird feeling. Finally after following him for what seemed like three minutes they came to a huge dome filled with different colored crystals. After leading the children to the awakening grounds the clan head had one last message for the children:"Do not try to touch two stones as both of their affinities will clash and kill you." leaving this final message he stepped to the side while showing that the children should enter.
