Chapter 29 - The Challenge

The loud scream echoed back and forth within the walls and hurled the sleeping Kombops into action. The ones' suspended on the spikes protruding from above fell down and collapsed onto the ones slumbering below.

Screams of clamour erupted out.

"W-Who did that?"

"Screw you all! First the Queen hogs all the males for the mating season. And now we can't even get some goodnight sleep?"

"That voice was quite harsh... I don't think it came from anybody here... maybe it's that sorry Queen enjoying herself."

Kobi, tightly clasping his mouth with his hand, listened with rapt, 'Ora!? What's this link connecting in my head?' A vile grin spread on his face, 'Oi, System!'

Shik trembled, 'Something's odd. Did I miss something?'

"Y-Yea!?"

Kobi loosened his grip and while googling at the Kombop's, responded, 'Here's this young master's challenge. I will clear one floor of this dungeon without gaining any experience.'

"Huh!?" Shik's expression turned odd, "What's that supposed to mean? ...Shit! You mean to just escape into the next floor without fighting damn! No, absolutely not!!"

Kobi snorted, "I won't leave... until every last one of the enemy is massacred!" The grin on his face continued to grow more wretched.

'Shit! What's this devil plotting.' Shik thought for a moment but whatever way he thought about it, he just couldn't understand how Kobi could pull it off, 'If he kills them... he will gain experience... even if he does so by breaking those spikes and showering them with them.

'If he uses that vulgar tongue, he will get experience no doubt... So... how can he possibly kill them off without getting experience.'

Shik felt baffled, but, realizing that this wouldn't be an easy as a challenge for Kobi, he agreed, "The odds seem fair enough. Sure, the challenge is on!"

"Huh!? Gimme some proof! How can I believe you won't just refuse the abide later?" Kobi looked away.

"Huh!? How dare you question my earne–"

[The System shall bear witness! The challenge is officially finalised!

If Kobi fails, he gets nothing and losses a random skill

If he wins, Shik will never make another video and will delete the current one. Along with handing over five spins.]

Seeing the hologram in front of him, both Kobi and Shik gawked at it in surprise, 'Muhahaha! It seems even your other AIs want you to loss!'

Kobi chuckled, "The bet's on!" And strode over.

The glistening eyes of the Kombop's aided him in the dark, he could roughly see the terrain, but it wasn't enough for him to maneuver around.

Their eyes were a good weakness and alongside the level and Hp guage above them, Kobi had a sigh of relief, 'I can make do just fine. But first, I need to explore the three floors.'

Kobi glanced around, 'Shik, Where's the door to the next floor?'

Shik shrugged and whistled, "Who knows?"

Kobi's lips thinned, 'You are annoying me so I lose, aren't you? Well guess what? Prepare for the moment I am set free!'

Shik gulped and swore to himself, "I am definitely not going to give him any help!"

Kobi shook his head and gazed around. As he tip-toed around the Kombop who had already fallen asleep, he found a small cavity in the cave's wall.

'Is this... the second floor's entrance?' It was a small opening, barely half his size, but as he thought about it, it was enough for the Kombop's to pass through.

Crouching down, he passed over and sure enough, the Floor shot up to 2.

'The first floor's Kombop's were all around level 3 to 5. What about this floor?' He zoomed closer to their profile, 'Level... 6 to 8, huh?'

But Kobi noticed a peculiar thing, near another small cavity, he found different, stronger bunch of Kombop's sleeping, 'All above level 10!' Kobi hissed.

Maneuvering around the spikes, he sneakily passed the group and neared the cavity. And as he did, he started hearing strange groans. As he focused on it, his suspicion deepened.

Shik frowned, "What's this strange noise?'

Kobi, in the midst of entering the third floor, paused and told Shik to wait outside.

"Huh? Why?" Shik tilted his head.

"Just listen." Kobi shook his head wearily and advanced alone.

As he passed over, he noticed the terrain had changed. The spikes had vanished and the ground had levelled.

The floor was much smaller but it housed fewer Kombop's.

As Kobi's eyes scanned around, he noticed a total of 23 Kombop's, 'I have a feeling all of them are male.' He chuckled.

Kobi's expression suddenly twisted, 'But... what is that... disgusting mess?'

Kobi frowned reading its profile, 'Kombop Queen?'

Its scarlet scales, unlike the Kombop's, were flipped vertically, as if they were digging into its flesh.

Its size was twice a normal Kombop's. Its head resembled that of a deformed dragon's with two strange, underdeveloped blobs protruding out of its skull.

It's tail seemed to be cut from the middle and diverged into two.

A pungent odor oozed out of the creature as she played around with the twenty-five Kombop's.

As Kobi's eyes focused in the dim environment, he couldn't help but gasp, 'Shit! T-Two holes? It– It has a hole in each of its tail?' Kobi cussed, 'Damn that's vulgar!'

Shaking his head, he realized the Queen was slouching on a pile of odd rocks.

Kobi had a guess, 'Are all of those... eggs?' As he zoomed, he realized those scales of her were actually quite pliant.

After noting everything down, Kobi quickly withdrew... the ongoing party wasn't to his liking, 'I will need some beauties to cleanse my eyes with later on.'

"So? Why did you tell me to wait?" Shik stomped his feet.

Kobi shook his head wearily before motioning him to follow along, 'Forget the small stuff... Watch! feast on what I am about to do!' An arrogant smirk appeared on his face.

Kobi sneaked back to the first floor, while realising how poorly the Kombop's slept, 'Their ears must be damn bad... I am no where near conspicuous and yet they still don't wake up.'

Shik nodded, holding back the urge to open his mouth.

"So... what's you plan?" Shik asked curiously.

Kobi didn't answer and retreated back to the cavity leading to the first floor. After dawdling for a bit, he cleared his throat before yelping loudly.

Within the confines of the cave's walls, his voice boomed like thunder.

The sleeping Kombop's in the first floor instantly snapped awake.

"W-Which sucker is constantly disturbing my sleep?"

"Fuck! I want to fuck! And if not that, then let me sleep!"

"Shut up you all, don't create more ruckus!"

Kobi, hearing their groans, cleared his throat before speaking loudly, his voice mingling within the tumult.

"SHUT IT YOU WHORES! THE QUEEN HAS SUMMONED US! LET'S GO!!"

Shik brows fluttered, 'Huh? What's... he planning?'

The Kombop heeding his voice scoffed, "Seems someone has finally lost it. Oi, bitch, stop yammering. That sorry ass Queen is probably enjoying herself! Something you or I can't do! So shut up and let me sleep."

Kobi's teeth gritted together, "Fuck! If you doubt me so much, then don't go! If you want to miss this opportunity, then so be it! I'm off alone!"

Saying so, Kobi hurriedly rushed back into the second floor and repeated the same scene before quietly sneaking to a conspicuous corner.

Slowly, as the second floor's Kombop's were just about to dismiss things and go to sleep, the Kombop's from the first floor slowly started rushing over.

'Brilliant, just as I thought! These lower levelled Kombop's have just hatched, hence their blatant indignation of the Queen!

'They must be experiencing their first mating season. And are getting too uncomfortable by the Queen's selfishness. But these second floor ones' are old and know the rules.

'I just needed to create a single seed of hope in any one of them... and,' A wicked smirk got plastered over his face, 'They themselves will spread its wonder to every last one.'

"Oh my God! how benevolent is our Queen! she invited us to enjoy ourselves alongside her!"

The first floor fools came muttering over, stirring the second floor ones.

'If, there is any problem,' Kobi's eyes fell upon the separate group that had been sleeping in front of the third floor's entrance, 'It would be them.'

'They are barely about ten in count and are probably the third floors' enemies. But the Queen must've hurled them outside so she could get some lone time.

'They would pose trouble... if any!'
