One week has passed, and my character has reached level 10. I have obtained various items, skills, equipment, and even a lousy pet for my character's life.
I got a passive skill named "Step Back". I got it from a unique quest specifically for the Assassin job. This skill helps dodge an attack. It will activate if you trigger your move when you get an attack. When you step back before getting hit, it will start automatically so you can successfully dodge the hit. It has a cooldown of 30 seconds. You can only use it once after the cooldown ends.
Also, I got an active skill named "Hissatsu Kyuten", but unfortunately, the condition for the skill is that I have to use a katana-type weapon. So, I can't use it until I put on the katana.
This is a skill that has high speed. You can slash your enemies at a distance, and you will move behind your enemies. The damage is pretty good, but you must have high speed on your character. But don't worry. You can increase your character's speed by increasing your character's Status, where there are STR (Strength), DEX (Dexterity), INT (Intelligent), AGI (Agility), and VIT (Vitality). You only need to increase your character's AGI status to increase your character's speed. Also, you can get it from several speed-boosting Buff items, equipment with speed-boosting status, and passive skills that can increase your character's speed.
Well, as a skill I can't use, for now, I won't bother with it. I better look for some skills that are advantageous to me now. It's better to look for passive skills than active ones, which works best for me. After all, an active skill always requires conditions, including what weapon I use.
When I first played the game, I used to think about where I got the quests and equipment I needed. I had time to think about a few things before I went out and went to sleep. But in the end, after playing these games for a week and doing it after work, I found them.
It's simple, but the game system applies some terms and conditions. Like getting an S rank quest, it requires a minimum of 124 adventurer level, like getting Legendary grade equipment, it also requires a minimum of 124 adventurer level, that's all determined by the game as well as fairness and comfort for players playing the game. So, getting them required a high level of adventurer.
Right now, I'm just getting started and have made it to level 10 on my character as an adventurer, so I need to upgrade to get great, high-value quests and equipment. Of course, if I got a great quest, which meant it was dangerous, I would get a high reward—and of course, there would be a chance in the reward there was one Legendary grade piece of equipment. S rank quests and Legendary grade equipment are very much needed for me, who wants to be more powerful than other players. After all, I played this game because of my deal with the crazy woman, Vivi.
But it's for my future, so I don't have to worry about it for now. Even if I'm more concerned about my future than today, I should be able to think more clearly so that my head doesn't become like a professor.
"Okay..."
I got up from bed, sat in the damn gaming chair, ran the game app, and started the game.
"Ah~ ah~ ah~..."
I woke up on the bed of the room I rented at the inn and heard a fairly loud sigh in the next room.
"This... I... Ahhhh~..."
The moaning sound grew louder in my ears. I decided to get up and sit beside the bed.
"Again..."
I put on a straight face and thought for a while.
It's just a game, but some players take advantage of it. Even if it's just a game, they're clever enough to do it without anyone caring. They take advantage of what they can't do in the real world. They take advantage of it because there are no rules prohibiting not doing it, even in the inn.
"Oh my... Damn it."
I bent down and held the back of my head, yielding to the behavior of the one in the next room, my neighbor.
But luckily, this was my last day in this room. This room's lease expires in 30 minutes so I can leave from that damn neighbor.
Before I left this room, enduring the agony I was experiencing because of the sighs and rattling noises; I opened my Bag Menu. There, I arranged my equipment. I'm wearing black leather armor with a blue straight line pattern, a slightly long dark red light robe as an accessory, black pants that I got yesterday through a quest reward and that have a Magic grade, and boots that are pretty comfortable to wear. Those that I use are equipment to accompany my journey today.
"I am ready."
After what I needed for the day was ready, I got up and left the room. But before that, before I head down the stairs, I have an idea for my sighing neighbor.
TOK! TOK! TOK!
I knocked loudly and repeatedly, then shouted, "FIRE! SAVE YOURSELF! FIRE! FIRE!" After that, I ran fast.
"One, two... five."
As I ran, I counted the few players that came out of their rooms. Five players came out to check what was going on, including my neighbor's two players.
After descending the stairs and meeting the inn's owner, I thanked him.
"Thank you. Sorry for the commotion on the 2nd floor."
At least, I also apologize for my bad behavior.
I left him and the inn I had logged out of for the past week. All the memories in this place it doesn't exist.
"I just realized, will his head never have hair?"
Somehow I asked that after leaving the inn. I even remember the head shape of the owner of the inn. Somehow I remember it instead of my current goal.
Strange but True.
(Bell sound!)
The sound of the bell ringing around me as I still remember the face of the inn's owner. Many people scattered and switched at the same time. Those who scattered and ran as if trying to save themselves. And suddenly, a message notification appeared on my screen.
"Emergency quest! Emergency quest! Emergency quest!"
The writing keeps appearing on my screen. I decided to press and check it out.
"Adventurer..."
The voice of a woman wearing autotune appeared.
"Please save the king and his family who are trapped in the fire in the palace. This is an emergency quest. This is an emergency quest. This is an emergency quest. Please save king Eric, queen Stella, prince Ted... and princess Veronica. Help them, please, Adventurers. Only you can help them."
"Hah!?"
After the sound disappeared, another message notification appeared. I pressed it and saw that there was the event quest.
"Umm... Wait, so the palace is on fire? Is there a fire going on there? Please wait a minute, let me think. Why did I remember something? Umm...?"
I confirmed what happened. I walked and passed riotous people to ascertain what was happening.
"Wow... that's true."
I saw very thick black smoke in the east. The very thick black smoke might indeed be coming from the palace, which the woman meant with a voice that sounded like she was on autotune. So, a fire is going on there, "a real fire".
I checked the event quest.
[Event Quest—The Stuck;
The king and his family were trapped in the palace and couldn't get out. The palace is being devoured by fire because it is caused by the little dragons that have sprung up and blindly set it on fire.
Quest objective: Save the king and his family, and watch out for the little dragons going wild.
Rewards: ...?
Time: 00:59:58.]
Since I was the one who cared the most, I didn't care about it.
"Okay, time to-"
Someone grabbed my hand as I was walking toward those running towards the east. The tug from her hand seemed not to allow me to leave. It was like telling me to run to the palace too.
I can see someone pulling my hand. It was Alice, she who grabbed my hand and kept running to take me there.
"Stop it! Hey, stop it!"
She ignored me. Her eyes were only fixed on the direction of the road. She didn't even allow her head to turn towards me. Her two legs relentlessly continued to run, and they passed people quickly. Her right hand gripped my arm tightly, and her left hand clenched.
"Why are you here? Are you also part of the NPC quest? Oy, stop it! Oy, can't you hear me? Oy..."
"Veronica..."
"Veronica? Huh? Who's that?"
I spoke to her, but she had no intention of stopping or turning to look at me.
"Veronica is in danger."
"Oh, the princess. Yeah, she's in danger of being in the middle of the fire."
"That's not what I mean."
"Well, that's not what I meant either. The palace was on fire, so she was in there... probably playing with the fire. She wanted to be the master of fire."
"Not that."
"So what!?"
"She summoned the dragons and set the palace on fire. She was the one who caused all this."
"Um... okay..."
Honestly, I don't understand. I don't understand this situation. The quest description tells that the king and his family are trapped in the palace that was burned by the little dragons blindly, but Alice instead told me something else. She told me about something else, which was different from the quest's description. She seemed to tell the initial cause of why it could happen by arguing that Veronica was the cause.
Well, whatever it was, she already told me that, and I still don't understand the situation, so I can only...
"Come with me!"
I'd rather follow the storyline. I still have to go there even if I don't care about this situation. Look at my hand. My hand is grasped and pulled by her very strongly. I can't go anywhere but follow her.
Shit... this woman is so damn. She played with her feelings to be able to save them. Again, her feelings couldn't lie to herself. She was very honest with her feelings and heart. Shit...
